1የሱሳ ሂካ ዱባ ጎሳ ሆረ አዬሰ ጉድሰረ ቅፍረናሆም ቶስ ታበ።When Jesus had concluded His discourse in the hearing of the people, He went to Capernaum.

2ኤሰና ካሮም ዎታዳራ ቦሉን ዎይቻ ካሌረ ግረ፤ ኡሱ ኣሎ ካጌላታረ ኡሱን ካሀንዳረክ ሀዉኣመረ ጎይን ጋባላመ ግረ።There a highly valued servant of a centurion was sick and about to die.

3ኡሱና የሱሳኮክ ጋራ ካኮማላረ ጎራታ ኡሱን ካሀንዳረክ ጎጎፋይስሮ ጎጎኤባናዉን ኡል ካአይሁዳት ጃርሶለኮ ፋረ።When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to ask Him to come and heal his servant.

4ሀንዳ ኦፋራሜረና የሱሳ ቶስ ኤመተንጉረን ሃ አመን አታይሰን ኤባተን፤ “ሂካ እባዶትን አት ሂካ ፈልን ዶትሳራ፤They came to Jesus and pleaded with Him earnestly, “This man is worthy to have You grant this,

5ኣላንቲና ሂክ እባዶት ጎሳካን ጌላታራ፤ ምን ካኤብካን ኖን ካማዳርስሰራና ኡሱያ።”for he loves our nation and has built our synagogue.”

6የሱሳ እሶነ ዎታ ሴተ። ኡሱና ምን ቶስ ካኮጋባላማረ ጎራታ፥ ዎታዳራ ቦልኮክ ዎይቻት ኦጌላታረ ፋረረ የሱሳነ ሃ አመ፤ “ጎታ፤ አት ምንኬ ኦርድ ታብን አን ካዶትሳሮ እባዶት ላኮዮ አሮሀርተ፤So Jesus went with them. But when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends with the message: “Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy to have You come under my roof.

7ሂካኮ ካከይ ኩ ሆረ ጋባላሚን ዱዶ ካዶትሳሮ ኣን እስኦተ ላኮቶታታሮ፤ ሃፉራ ኮ ካላል አየስ፤ ኢን ካሀንዳረክ ፋይሮዋ።That is why I did not consider myself worthy to come to You. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

8አን መተኬዉን ካጉተ ዎይቻ አባ እንኮ ሄገሌ አደ ኢን ካሃንዳራ ዎታዳራ ግራ፤ ኮኔ አት ‘ሴ’ ጎአምሮ ሴታራ፤ ካካለነና፥ ‘ኮያ’ ጎአምሮ ኤመታራ፤ ኢን ካሃንዳራና፥ ‘ሂካ ፈል’ ጎአምሮ ኢን አጃጃማራ።”For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell one to go, and he goes, and another to come, and he comes. I tell my servant to do something, and he does it.”

9የሱሳና ሂካ ካኮማላረ ጎራታ ኡሱ ሳደ፤ ካምባል አመረና ደቤሴታ ካግረ ጎሳነ፥ “አን እስኔ ሃ አማራ፤ ህታ ኣንትት ታንጂንት አማኖ እስራኤሊ ዱዶ አን ላኮሄለሮ” አመ።When Jesus heard this, He marveled at the centurion. Turning to the crowd following Him, He said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.”

10ሀንዳ ካሴተረ እባዶ ምን ካኮአባባታረ ጎራታ፥ ኡሱ ካሀንዳረክና ካፋዬሮ ዴን።And when the messengers returned to the house, they found the servant in good health.

11ኤሰኮ አባባተረ የሱሳ ታንጂን ሀአዳላኖን፥ ናይን ታአማማቶ ካታማ ቶስ ሴተ፤ ኡሱኮ ኦአጋልሳታራና ካሞጋን ጎሳ ኡሱነ ዎታ ሴተ።Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain. His disciples went with Him, accompanied by a large crowd.

12ካታማ ቶስ ካኮታባራን ካራ የሱሳ ካኮገያረ ጎራታ፥ እባዶት ኮኮክ ሬስ ስዴንጉሬን ካታማኮ ቤን፤ ካጎየረና ኣየተሳዉን ኮ ካላልየ፤ ኣና ጋልታንተተ፤ ካሞጋን ካካታማ ጎሳና ኤሰነ ዎታ ግረ።As He approached the town gate, He saw a dead man being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her.

13ጎታና ኤሰ ካኮደያረ ጎራታ ነኔኤይሳተጉረ፥ “አላማንደ፥ አሮኦተ!” አመ።When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said, “Do not weep.”

14ጋባላመረ ታኮስዴራን ራሬ ድነ፤ ካስደረ እባዶና ታክ አመ አሌ፤ የሱሳና፥ “አት ዎዳላት፥ አን ኩኔ ክ አማራ” አመ።Then He went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. “Young man,” He said, “I tell you, get up!”

15ካጎየረ እባዶትና ኔፎ አባባተደ ፋዬረ ጦቂ አመ ሀማጼ፤ አዬሳኖ ሀጋአበ። የሱሳና ኣተረ አዉን ስሰ።And the dead man sat up and began to speak! Then Jesus gave him back to his mother.

16ዱባና አብሳተሬን ዋ ጋላታ፥ “ካአቲ ካሄገሮ ኖ ኦሮኮ ኬራ”፥ “ዋ ጎሳኬሳ ፋይስን ኤመተራ” አመን።A sense of awe swept over all of them, and they glorified God. “A great prophet has appeared among us!” they said. “God has visited His people!”

17ሂክ የሱሳኮክ አታን ካይሁዳ ኡል ዱባይና ኡሱ ማማኒ ካግሮ ኡል ዱባ አዴሳመ።And the news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and all the surrounding region.

18ያንሳኮ ኦአጋልሳታረን ሂካ ዱባ ያንሳን ሰገን። ኡሱና እሶ ኦሮኮ ላማ ኡመረ፥Then John’s disciples informed him about all these things.

19“ኤመታራ ካአማንተተ አትተ? ሙ ካካለ ኦራና? አማ” አም ጎጎሆሳናዉን ጎታ ቶስ ፋረ።So John called two of his disciples and sent them to ask the Lord, “Are You the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?”

20እባዶጃና የሱሳ ቶስ ሴቴረነ፥ ኤመታራ ካአማንተተ አትተ? ሙ ካካለ ኦራና? አም ኖ ኩ ጎጎሆሳኖን “ካጣማቃራ ያንሳ ኖ ኩ ቶስ ፋረራ” አመን።When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to ask, ‘Are You the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?’”

21ጎርሰዋ የሱሳ ካሞጋን እባዶ ሀዉኣምኮ፥ ማር ኦሮክ ሀዉኣምኮና ባቲክ አያናልኮ ፋይሰ፤ ካሞጋን ኢልኦ ካንደያኖን ኢልኦ ደንዴይሰ።At that very hour Jesus healed many people of their diseases, afflictions, and evil spirits, and He gave sight to many who were blind.

22ያንሳን ሀንዳ ኦሴተረነ የሱሳ ሃ አመ፤ “ሴንጉዴን ካዴተታና ካማልቴታን ያንሳን ሰጋ፤ ኢልኦ ካንድያኖን ድናራ፤ ኦኤሳራን ቱኩል ሰሴይናራን፤ ማሪ ባር ኦአባና ሙጭምናራን፤ ነቤ ኦማሎና ማልናራን፤ ኦጎየራና ጎይኮ ክናራን፤ ሂየሳሉና ዎንጋላ ላላባምናራ።So He replied, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

23እዬ አብዳታና ዋት ካሀንዱዱፋኖን እባዶ ዱባ ካሶማሳመያ።”Blessed is the one who does not fall away on account of Me.”

24ያንሳን ሀንዳ ኦኤሜተሬን ሴተን ካኮቦዋሬን ጎራታ፥ የሱሳ ጋራ ያንሳኮክ አዬሳኖ ሀጋአበ፤ ሃና አመ፤ ያንሳ ቶስ ጋ ካኮንቤቴተን መ ዲንየ? አምባል ካዎልዎልሳቶ ፊቀያ?After John’s messengers had left, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swaying in the wind?

25ሀያ መ ድን ቤተን? ካእዳን ሳርስ ካሳርሳተሮ እባዶያ? ካኢዳሮ ሳርሲ ኦኢሳዳራና ግር ካኤካተ ኦግራን ምን ካዎኖይ ግራንዋ።Otherwise, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? Look, those who wear elegant clothing and live in luxury are found in palaces.

26ሀያ! እስን መ ድን ቤተን? ካሄገሮ ድን ሌዉና? እ አን እስኔ ሃ አማራ፤ እስን ድን ካቤተቴን ካሄገሮኮና ካሮራሮያ።What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.

27ሃ አማመ ካኮንጻፋመረና ኡሱያ፤ “ ‘ራካና ኩ ሆረ ካኤካስሮ፥ ኤርግቻኬና ኩኮ ጣይስ አን ፋርናራ።’This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’

28አን እስኔ ሃ አማራ፤ ሄለልኮ ካኡሙላመሮ ኦሮኮ ያንሳኮ ካሮራራ ላግሮ፤ ዎኖናት ካዋይ ጎአመን ዱባንኮና ካየራታራ ኡሱ ሮራራ።”I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John, yet even the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”

29ቃራጣ ኦኩኩይሳራና ሀሄሶን፥ ሂካ ኦማሌን ዱባ ካያንሳ ጥንቃታ ጣማቃማ ዋ ቁሉክያ አመን አቶቴን።All the people who heard this, even the tax collectors, acknowledged God’s justice. For they had received the baptism of John.

30እባዶ ካፋራሳውልና ሴራ ካሙሴ ኦካሳን ጎአመን ታያንሳ ገነ ጣማቃማና ዋት፥ ዋ እሶን ካአቦ ሀልቻ ኔባቴን።But the Pharisees and experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.

31የሱሳ አደ፥ “ጎርታ ህታ አላታንኮክ እባዶ አን ሜይ ማሱስራ? መ ኣን ላራን?“To what, then, can I compare the men of this generation? What are they like?

32ባንኤ ታግያይ ሀማጼሬን እስ እስሮ እስ ኡኡማታ ሃ ካአማሮ ይሳስ ኣን ላናን፥ ‘ኖ ሱሱሌ እስኑን ኡፉፍነ፥ ላኮዱዱርቴን፤ ቦቾ እስኑን ቤንሰ፥ ላኮኦቴን።’They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to one another: ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not weep.’

33ኣላንቲና ካጣማቃራ ያንሳ አጋቡይ ካም ሀኣሞና ካዎይኒ ጣሞ ሀንጣሞን ጎኤመተ፥ ‘ባቲክ አያና አባ’ አንቴን።For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon!’

34ኤረ ካእባዶ አድ አማና ጣማ ጎኤመተ ‘አሞና ጣሞን ካጋጲጋጳሮ፥ ቃራጣ ኦኩኩይሳራና ጩባለሳል ካጌላታሮ’ አንቴን።The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look at this glutton and drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’

35ጎርታ ቃሩማኮክ ልክ ላኖ ካአታተሮ እባዶ ዱባ ዶሌ አዴሳንተ አመ።”But wisdom is vindicated by all her children.”

36ኤሴና እባዶ ካፋራሳውኮ ኮኔ ዎታ ባቦ ጎጎአምሮን የሱሳ ኡማተ፥ ኡሱና ፋራሳውትኮክ ምን ቶስ ታበጉረ ባቦ ኣምን ሀማጼ።Then one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to eat with him, and He entered the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.

37ኤሰ ካታማይ ታግቴ ቶ ጩባለቲ ሄለልትቲ፥ የሱሳ ፋራሳውትኮክ ምኒ ባቦ ኣምን ሀማጻኖ ካኮማላተ ጎራታ ኮ አልባስጢሮስ ካአማማሮ ኤኤሞኮ ቆራመ ካፈላመሮ ብልቃደ ምግ ታሌተቶ ሽቶ ኣተ ኤመተ፤When a sinful woman from that town learned that Jesus was dining there, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume.

38ምና ታሃሬነ ሉቃ. ዶሌ አልተደ ኦታ ኢልም ሉቃ. ጉት ኡባ መተክሰይና ሻካራኖ ሀጋአብተ፥ ሉቃኦቴሳና አንጋታ ሽቶ ሽግደ።As she stood behind Him at His feet weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears and wipe them with her hair. Then she kissed His feet and anointed them with the perfume.

39ካኡማተረ ፋራሳውትና ሂካ ካኮደያረ ጎራታ፥ ሂክ እባዶት ካሄገሮ ሊ ግረዋ ኡሱ ታድንተታ ሄለልትቲ ማዮቶ፥ አደ ማምስት እባዶትቶ አዴስ ግራረ፤ ጩባለቲታ አመ ዎዳናቴሳ ሄደ።When the Pharisee who had invited Jesus saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, He would know who this is and what kind of woman is touching Him—for she is a sinner!”

40የሱሳና፥ “ስሞና፥ አን ኩን ካሰግናሮ አየስ አባ” አመ። “ኡሱና ካአጋልስሳቶ! ኢን ሰጊ” አመ።But Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.” “Tell me, Teacher,” he said.

41የሱሳና ሃ አመ፥ ኮ ካአምአይሳሮኮ ማራጋደ ኦኣማኣቴረን እባዶጃ ላማ ግረን፥ ኮ ከን ቦሌ ጣጋራ፥ ካላምና አደ ጣጋራ ኮንቶም አማኣተረን።“Two men were debtors to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

42አባብ ካስስና ካኮዋታሬን ጎራታ አንዛትሶ ላማ ዱባና ኡሱ ኢሳገ። ጎርታ እሶ ላማ ዱባኮ ካአምአይሰሮ ሮርሳተ ካጌላታራ ኤክያ?When they were unable to repay him, he forgave both of them. Which one, then, will love him more?”

43ስሞናና፥ “ታሞጋን አንዛ ካኮንሄሰቶ ኣን ላራ” አመ አባበ። የሱሳና፥ “ልክ አባብቴታ” አመ።“I suppose the one who was forgiven more,” Simon replied. “You have judged correctly,” Jesus said.

44ሄለልትቲ ቶስ ካምባል አመረ ስሞናነ ሃ አመ፥ “አት ህታ ሄለልትቲ ድያታ? አን ምንካ ጎታበ፥ አት ሉቃኦተዉን በከና ላኮስሰተ፥ ኤሰ ጎአመን ሉቃኦቴ ኢልምትሴይ ኣልሰደ መተካክሰይ ሻካርተ።And turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? When I entered your house, you did not give Me water for My feet, but she wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

45አት ዱዶ እን አንጋተ ኖጎዳ ላኮኣተቶ፥ ኤሰ ጎአመን አን ጎታበኮ ሀጋአብተዴ ሉቃኦቴ አንጋታና ላኮኣልሰቶ።You did not greet Me with a kiss, but she has not stopped kissing My feet since I arrived.

46አት መተካኬይ ዛይቲና ላኮሽግደቶ፤ ኤሰ ጎአመን ሉቃኦተይ ሽቶ ሽግደ።You did not anoint My head with oil, but she has anointed My feet with perfume.

47ሃንሱን አን ሃ አማራ፤ ኤሰ ኣሎ እን ጌላተታ ካንጂን ጩቦ ኤሰን ሻጋ ሌራ፤ ጩቦ ክጫርክ ሻጋ ካኮንሌራ ጎአመን አባራንቲ ጌላታራ።”Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven, for she has loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”

48ኤሰኮ የሱሳ ሄለልትቲነ፥ “ጩቦካ ሀሄሶ አማመራ” አመ።Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

49ኡሱ ዎታ ባቦ ኣምን ሀማጽተ ታግቴ ማርትና፥ “ሂክ ጩቦ ዱዶ ሀሄሶ ካአማራ ኡሱ አዮያ?” አመን እስ እስኦሮ አዬሴን።But those at the table began to say to themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”

50የሱሳ ሄለልትቲነ “አማኖካ ኩ ፋይሰራ ኖጎዳ ጋል!” አመ።And Jesus told the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
