1. 1BSWEዎኖ ሄሮዶሳ ሬደ ካኮግሬ ገስ የሱሳ ታቤተሌም ካታማይ ካይሁዳ ኡሊ ካኮአላታረ ጎራታ ባራጃ ኦቆቆራሬን ምና ታብያንኮ ኢየሩሳለም ቶስ ኤመተንጉረን፥BSBBSB: After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,
2. 2BSWEካይሁዳ ዎኖ ሊን ካአላተራ ይትት ሀጌ ግራ? ምና ታብያንነ ባካላ ዴነጉነ ኡሱን ሳጋድን ኤሜነና አመን ሆሳተን።BSBBSB: asking, “Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
3. 3BSWEዎኖ ሄሮዶሳ ሂካ አየስ ካኮማላረ ጎራታ ኔ። ኡሱማለና ካኢየሩሳለም እባዶ ዱባ ኔ።BSBBSB: When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.
4. 4BSWEኡሱ ካቱቃሞል ዎይቻልና ሴራ ካአይሁድ ኦአጋልስሳራን ዱባ ኩኩይሰረ ክርስቶሳ ሀጌ አላይናሮ ሆሳተ።BSBBSB: And when he had assembled all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ was to be born.
5. 5BSWEእሶና፥ “ካይሁዳ ኡሊ ታግቶ ታቤተሌም ካታማይያ፤” ካሄገሮይ ሃ አማመ ጻፋመራ፤BSBBSB: “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6. 6BSWE“ ‘ኡል ካይሁዳይ ታግታ አት ቤተሌም! ካካለ ታይሁዳ ካታማልኮ ዱዶ ላኮየራታቶ፥ ጎሳኬ እስራኤል ካፎፍናራ ሞቲ ኩኮ ብናራ አመን።’ ”BSBBSB: ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah, for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of My people Israel.’”
7. 7BSWEኤሰኮና ሄሮዶሳ ባራጃ ኦቆቆራሬን ጎልሰ ኡምሰጉረ አዬስሳ ባካላ ካኮሙተሮ ልክኪ ጎራታ ሆሳተ ማለ።BSBBSB: Then Herod called the Magi secretly and learned from them the exact time the star had appeared.
8. 8BSWEባራጃ ኦቆቆራሬና ቤተሌም ቶስ ፋረጉረ “ሴየንጉዴን ይትት ማላ ዶታ፥ አንና አድ ሴይጉረ ኡሱን ጎጎሳጋድሮን ኡሱ ጎጎሄልቴን እን ቶስ አባባይዴን ኤቲ ግሮ እን ሰጋ” አመ።BSBBSB: And sending them to Bethlehem, he said: “Go and search carefully for the Child, and when you find Him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship Him.”
9. 9BSWEባራጃ ኦቆቆራሬና ዎኖ ካአመሮ ማለን አባባቴንጉረን ሰሴታን ሆረዴን። ህክና ምና ታብያንነ ካዴራን ባካላ ራ ቃጄልሳ ይትት ማንኮግሮ ባንኤ ጌረ አሌ።BSBBSB: After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stood over the place where the Child was.
10. 10BSWEባካላና ካኮድያረን ጎራታ ኣሎ ገጌላተን።BSBBSB: When they saw the star, they rejoiced with great delight.
11. 11BSWEምን ኦሮ ካኮታባሬን ጎራታ ይትትና ኣየቴሳ ማይራመነ ዎታ ካግሮ ዴን፥ ግልቢሰንጉሬን ሳጋደን። ሳጢነክሶና ባናተንጉረን ዎርቂ፥ ኢጣናነ፥ ኡርት ታኢዳን ካአቦ ቅባት ስሰን።BSBBSB: On coming to the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh.
12. 12BSWEእሶና ሄሮዶሳ ቶስ ጎጎአባባኖንኮ ዋ ህስሎይ አታይሰ እሶን ማንኮሰጌሮ ማራን ራ ኢግልሳቴን ኡልክሶ ቶስ አባባተን።BSBBSB: And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their country by another route.
13. 13BSWEባራጃ ኦቆቆራሬን ሴተን ካኮቡዋረን ጎራታ ኤርግቻ ካዋ ዮሴፋን ሙተጉረ ክ አት ታኮአባባቶ አሪ አን ኩን ታ ሰግሮን ይትት ኣየቴሳነ ዎታ ኣት ግብጽ ቶስ ባቃጉደ ኤሰ ግር። “ሄሮዶሳ ይትት ላጋዲን ዶታራ” አመ።BSBBSB: When the Magi had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”
14. 14BSWEሃንሱን ኡሱና ኬጉረ ይትትና ኣየቴሳና ኣተጉረ ሄመን ግብጽ ቶስ ሴተ።BSBBSB: So he got up, took the Child and His mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt,
15. 15BSWEኤሴና ሄሮዶሳ ታጎሮ አዳላተ። ሂካኒና “ኤረኬና ኡል ካግብጽኮ ኡማየ” አማ ጎታ ካሄገሮኮት ህኢ ካአዬሰራ ሃፉራ ፈሎ ሀየ።BSBBSB: where he stayed until the death of Herod. This fulfilled what the Lord had spoken through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
16. 16BSWEሄሮዶሳ ባራጃ ኦቆቆራሬን ኡሱ ሶባኖ አዴሰጉረ ኣሎ አማራተ፥ ባራጃ ኦቆቆራሬን ባራጃ ካኮሙተሮ ጎራታ ጎጎሰጌራንክ ማለ ጌስ ላማና ኤሰኮ ሄገልባን ካሌሮ ቤተሌምና ኡሱ ጎቦቢ ካግሮ ማማንጆልኮክ ባባር ይስ ዱባ ኩኩይሰረ ፋረ ላጋዲስሰ።BSBBSB: When Herod saw that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was filled with rage. Sending orders, he put to death all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, according to the time he had learned from the Magi.
17. 17BSWEሀሱ ጎራታ ካሄገሮ ኤርማሳ ሃ አማመ ካሰጋመራ ፈሎ ሀየ።BSBBSB: Then what was spoken through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:
18. 18BSWEካኦታኔና ካአቲ ኢያኮት ያየ ራማይ ማልሳንተ። “ራሄልና ይስክሴ ማራን ኦተ፥ ጎጎኢና የላዪን ላኮዳንዴተ፥ ኣላንቲና ይስክሴ ማንኮጎየ ማራንያ።”BSBBSB: “A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”
19. 19BSWEጎይ ካሄሮዶሳኮ አባባተረ ካጎታ ኤርግቻ ዮሴፋን ህስሎይ ሙተጉረ፥BSBBSB: After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.
20. 20BSWE“ክንጉዴ ይትትና ኣየቴሳ ኣትጉደ ኡል ካእስራኤል አባባ፥ ይትት ላጋዲን ኦዶታሬን ጎዬራን” አመ።BSBBSB: “Get up!” he said. “Take the Child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, for those seeking the Child’s life are now dead.”
21. 21BSWEዮሴፋና ኬጉረ ይትትና ኣየቴሳ ኣተጉረ ኡል ካእስራኤል ቶስ አባባተ።BSBBSB: So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and went to the land of Israel.
22. 22BSWEአየሱን ጎአመን አርክሎሳ ኣቦኬሳ ሄሮዶሳኮት ባንኤ ኡል ካይሁዳ ዎኖ ሌ ሬዳኖ ካኮማላረ ጎራታ ዮሴፋ ኤሰራ ሴይን አብሳተ። ህስሎይ ኡሱን ካኮሰጋማረ ጎራታ ታጋሊላ አዉራጃ ቶስ ሴተ።BSBBSB: But when he learned that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,
23. 23BSWEናዝረት ታአማማቶ ካታማ ቶስ ሴተጉረ ሀማጼ። ሂካኒና ካሄገሮል፥ “ካናዝረት አማምናራ” አማሜን ኦሰጋመራን ሄገሮ ፈሎይ ሀዬን።BSBBSB: and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophets: “He will be called a Nazarene.”
