Kay bisan gani kining mga bato mahimong himuon sa Dios nga mga anak ni Abraham.Produce fruit, then, in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

9Timan-i ninyo kini: ang atsa andam na aron iputol sa punoan sa mga kahoy. Ang matag kahoy nga wala mamunga ug maayong bunga putlon ug ilabay sa kalayo.”The axe lies ready at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

10Nangutana ang mga tawo kang Juan, “Unsa man diay ang among himuon?”The crowds asked him, “What then should we do?”

11Mitubag si Juan, “Kon kinsa kaninyo ang adunay duha ka bisti ihatag ang usa sa walay bisti. Ug kon kinsa kaninyo ang adunay pagkaon, hatagi kadtong walay pagkaon.”John replied, “Whoever has two tunics should share with him who has none, and whoever has food should do the same.”

12Adunay mga maniningil ug buhis nga miadto usab kang Juan aron magpabautismo. Miingon sila kang Juan, “Magtutudlo, unsa may angay namong himuon?”Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?”

13Mitubag si Juan, “Kon maningil kamo ug buhis, ayaw kamo paningil ug sobra sa gipasingil kaninyo.”“Collect no more than you are authorized,” he answered.

14Adunay mga sundalo usab nga nangutana, miingon sila, “Unya, kami, unsa adunay among himuon?” Mitubag si Juan kanila, “Ayaw kamo pagpanghulga o pagpamutangbutang aron makapanguwarta. Kinahanglan nga makontento kamo sa inyong suhol.”Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” “Do not take money by force or false accusation,” he said. “Be content with your wages.”

15Pagkadungog sa mga tawo sa mga pagpanudlo ni Juan, naghuna-huna sila nga tingali si Juan mao na ang Mesiyas nga ilang gipaabot.The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John could be the Christ.

18Daghan pang mga butang sa pagpangdasig ang gitudlo ni Juan sa iyang pagwali sa Maayong Balita ngadto sa mga tawo.With these and many other exhortations, John proclaimed the good news to the people.

19Bisan gani si Herodes nga pangulo sa Galilea gibadlong ni Juan tungod kay gihimo niyang asawa ang iyang bilas nga si Herodias ug tungod sa daghan pang mga daotan nga iyang gihimo.But when he rebuked Herod the tetrarch regarding his brother’s wife Herodias and all the evils he had done,

21Usa ka adlaw, human mabautismohi ni Juan ang mga tawo, si Jesus nagpabautismo usab. Samtang nag-ampo si Jesus, naabli ang langitWhen all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened,
