Genesis 2 (CMNCBT)

1天地萬物都造好了。Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.

2第七日，上帝完成了祂的創造之工，就在第七日歇了一切的工。And by the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work.

3上帝賜福給第七日，將其定為聖日，因為祂在這一日歇了祂一切的創造之工。Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because on that day He rested from all the work of creation that He had accomplished.

4這是有關創造天地的記載。耶和華上帝創造天地的時候，This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made them.

5地上還沒有草木，也沒有長出菜蔬，因為耶和華上帝還沒有降雨在地上，土地也沒有人耕作，Now no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth, nor had any plant of the field sprouted, for the LORD God had not yet sent rain upon the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground.

6但有水從地裡湧出，澆灌大地。But springs welled up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground.

7耶和華上帝用地上的塵土造人，把生命的氣息吹進他的鼻孔裡，他就成了有生命的人。Then the LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being.

8耶和華上帝在東方的伊甸開闢了一個園子，把祂所造的人安置在裡面。And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, where He placed the man He had formed.

9耶和華上帝使地裡長出各種樹木，它們既好看又有好吃的果子。在園子的中間有生命樹和分別善惡的樹。Out of the ground the LORD God gave growth to every tree that is pleasing to the eye and good for food. And in the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

10有一條河從伊甸流出來灌溉那園子，又從那裡分成四條河流。Now a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it branched into four headwaters:

11第一條支流叫比遜河，它環繞著哈腓拉全境，那裡有金子，The name of the first river is the Pishon; it winds through the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.

12且是上好的金子，還有珍珠和紅瑪瑙。And the gold of that land is pure, and bdellium and onyx are found there.

13第二條支流叫基訓河，它環繞著古實全境。The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the whole land of Cush.

14第三條支流叫底格里斯河，它流經亞述的東邊。第四條支流叫幼發拉底河。The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

15耶和華上帝把那人安置在伊甸的園子裡，讓他在那裡耕種、看管園子。Then the LORD God took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it.

16耶和華上帝吩咐那人說：「你可以隨意吃園中各種樹上的果子，And the LORD God commanded him, “You may eat freely from every tree of the garden,

17只是不可吃那棵分別善惡樹的果子，因為你吃的日子必定死。」but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”

18耶和華上帝說：「那人獨自一人不好，我要為他造一個相配的幫手。」The LORD God also said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make for him a suitable helper.”

19耶和華上帝用塵土造了各種田野的走獸和空中的飛鳥，把牠們帶到那人跟前，看他怎麼叫牠們。他叫這些動物什麼，牠們的名字就是什麼。And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and He brought them to the man to see what he would name each one. And whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.

20那人給所有的牲畜及空中的飛鳥和田野的走獸都起了名字。可是他找不到一個跟自己相配的幫手。The man gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.

21耶和華上帝使那人沉睡，然後在他沉睡的時候從他身上取出一根肋骨，再把肉合起來。So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep, and while he slept, He took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the area with flesh.

22耶和華上帝用那根肋骨造了一個女人，把她帶到那人跟前。And from the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man, He made a woman and brought her to him.

23那人說：「這才是我骨中的骨，肉中的肉，要稱她為女人，因為她是從男人身上取出來的。」And the man said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for out of man she was taken.”

24因此，人要離開父母，與妻子結合，二人成為一體。For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

25當時，他們夫婦二人都赤身露體，並不覺得羞恥。And the man and his wife were both naked, and they were not ashamed.
