Luke 3 (CMNFEB)

5所有山谷都将填满，所有山峦丘陵都将成为平地！弯曲之路变得笔直，坑洼之地恢复平坦！Every valley shall be filled in, and every mountain and hill made low. The crooked ways shall be made straight, and the rough ways smooth.

6所有人都将见到上帝的救赎。’”And all humanity will see God’s salvation.’”

7面对前来接受施洗的民众，约翰问到：“你们是毒蛇之子，谁允许你们逃离即将到来的审判？Then John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

8你们要拿出行动，证明真心悔改。不要心中暗自产生傲慢的想法：‘我们是亚伯拉罕的后代。’告诉你们，上帝用这些石头就可以创造亚伯拉罕的后裔。Produce fruit, then, in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

9砍下树根的斧子已经准备好，所有结不出好果子的树，都会被砍倒丢入火中。”The axe lies ready at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

10民众问他：“那么我们该做什么呢？”The crowds asked him, “What then should we do?”

11他回答：“如果你有两件衣服，就要分给没有衣服之人。如果你有食物，就要分给没有食物之人。”John replied, “Whoever has two tunics should share with him who has none, and whoever has food should do the same.”

12有税吏前来受洗，问他：“老师，我们该做些什么？”Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?”

13他说：“不可收取超过规定的税款。”“Collect no more than you are authorized,” he answered.

14士兵也问他：“我们呢，我们又该怎么做？”他回答：“不要恐吓，不要敲诈，不要做出不实指控，要对自己的酬劳感到满意。”Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” “Do not take money by force or false accusation,” he said. “Be content with your wages.”

15众人充满期盼地等待着，心里暗自猜测，约翰会不会就是基督。The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John could be the Christ.

16约翰回答了众人的问题。他解释道：“是的，我是用水为你们施洗。但在我之后，还会出现一位能力比我更强大之人，我甚至连给他提鞋的资格都没有，他将用圣灵和火为你们施洗。John answered all of them: “I baptize you with water, but One more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

17他手里拿着谷叉，准备把打谷场的麦子和谷壳分开。然后把麦子放入他的谷仓，再用不灭之火把谷壳烧尽。”His winnowing fork is in His hand to clear His threshing floor and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

18他在向众人传播福音之时，还提出了很多这样的警告。With these and many other exhortations, John proclaimed the good news to the people.

19君王希律因为娶了弟媳希罗底，加之曾做过的其他恶行，因此受到了约翰的谴责。But when he rebuked Herod the tetrarch regarding his brother’s wife Herodias and all the evils he had done,

20希律将这些所谓罪行累计起来，将约翰关进了监牢。Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.

21但在此前，众人已受洗，耶稣也受了洗。耶稣在祷告的时候，天空忽然打开，When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened,

22他看见圣灵如鸽子般降落在他身上。有声音从天上来，说：“这是我所爱之子，他让我感到喜悦。”and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in a bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”

24他的家谱依次往上推，父辈分别为玛塔、利未、麦基、雅拿、约瑟、the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melchi, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph,

25玛他提亚、亚摩斯、拿鸿、以斯利、拿该、the son of Mattathias, the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, the son of Esli, the son of Naggai,

26玛押、玛他提亚、西美、约瑟、约大、the son of Maath, the son of Mattathias, the son of Semein, the son of Josech, the son of Joda,

27约哈难、利撒、所罗巴伯、撒拉铁、尼利、the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri,

28麦基、亚底、哥桑、以摩当、珥、the son of Melchi, the son of Addi, the son of Cosam, the son of Elmadam, the son of Er,

29耶书、以利以谢、约令、玛塔、利未、the son of Joshua, the son of Eliezer, the son of Jorim, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi,

30西缅、犹大、约瑟、约南、以利亚敬、the son of Simeon, the son of Judah, the son of Joseph, the son of Jonam, the son of Eliakim,

31米利亚、买拿、马达他、拿单、大卫、the son of Melea, the son of Menna, the son of Mattatha, the son of Nathan, the son of David,

32耶西、俄备得、波阿斯、撒门、拿顺、the son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz, the son of Sala, the son of Nahshon,

33亚米拿达、亚兰、希斯仑、法勒斯、犹大、the son of Amminadab, the son of Admin, the son of Arni, the son of Hezron, the son of Perez, the son of Judah,
