The Death of Moses 2 CPDV and all of Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and the entire land of Judah, even to the furthest sea, BSB BSB: all of Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Western Sea,
3 CPDV and the southern region, and the breadth of the plain of Jericho, the city of palms, as far as Zoar. BSB BSB: the Negev, and the region from the Valley of Jericho (the City of Palms) all the way to Zoar.
4 CPDV And the Lord said to him: “This is the land, about which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying: I will give it to your offspring. You have seen it with your eyes, but you shall not cross over to it.” BSB BSB: And the LORD said to him, “This is the land that I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your own eyes, but you will not cross into it.”
6 CPDV And he buried him in the valley of the land of Moab, opposite Peor. And no man knows where his sepulcher is, even to the present day. BSB BSB: And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab facing Beth-peor, and no one to this day knows the location of his grave.
7 CPDV Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eye was not dimmed, nor were his teeth displaced. BSB BSB: Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak, and his vitality had not diminished.
8 CPDV And the sons of Israel wept for him in the plains of Moab for thirty days. And then the days of their wailing, during which they mourned Moses, were completed. BSB BSB: The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end.
9 CPDV Truly, Joshua, the son of Nun, was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the sons of Israel were obedient to him, and they did as the Lord instructed Moses. BSB BSB: Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites obeyed him and did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
11 CPDV one with all the signs and wonders, which he sent through him, to perform in the land of Egypt, against Pharaoh, and all his servants, and his entire land, BSB BSB: no prophet who did all the signs and wonders that the LORD sent Moses to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh and to all his officials and all his land,
12 CPDV nor one with such a powerful hand and such great miracles as Moses did in the sight of all Israel. BSB BSB: and no prophet who performed all the mighty acts of power and awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.
