Carry One Another’s Burdens 1 CPDV And, brothers, if a man has been overtaken by any offense, you who are spiritual should instruct someone like this with a spirit of leniency, considering that you yourselves might also be tempted. BSB BSB: Brothers, if someone is caught in a trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him with a spirit of gentleness. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.
CPDV For if anyone considers himself to be something, though he may be nothing, he deceives himself. BSB BSB: If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
CPDV So let each one prove his own work. And in this way, he shall have glory in himself only, and not in another. BSB BSB: Each one should test his own work. Then he will have reason to boast in himself alone, and not in someone else.
CPDV For each one shall carry his own burden. BSB BSB: For each one should carry his own load.
CPDV And let him who is being taught the Word discuss it with him who is teaching it to him, in every good way. BSB BSB: Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word must share in all good things with his instructor.
CPDV For whatever a man will have sown, that also shall he reap. For whoever sows in his flesh, from the flesh he shall also reap corruption. But whoever sows in the Spirit, from the Spirit he shall reap eternal life. BSB BSB: The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
CPDV And so, let us not be deficient in doing good. For in due time, we shall reap without fail. BSB BSB: Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
CPDV Therefore, while we have time, we should do good works toward everyone, and most of all toward those who are of the household of the faith. BSB BSB: Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to the family of faith.
Final Warnings and Blessings 11 CPDV Consider what kind of letters I have written to you with my own hand. BSB BSB: See what large letters I am using to write to you with my own hand!
CPDV For as many of you as they desire to please in the flesh, they compel to be circumcised, but only so that they might not suffer the persecution of the cross of Christ. BSB BSB: Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. They only do this to avoid persecution for the cross of Christ.
CPDV And yet, neither do they themselves, who are circumcised, keep the law. Instead, they want you to be circumcised, so that they may glory in your flesh. BSB BSB: For the circumcised do not even keep the law themselves, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
CPDV For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision prevails in any way, but instead there is a new creature. BSB BSB: For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything. What counts is a new creation.
CPDV And whoever follows this rule: may peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. BSB BSB: Peace and mercy to all who walk by this rule, even to the Israel of God.
CPDV Concerning other matters, let no one trouble me. For I carry the stigmata of the Lord Jesus in my body. BSB BSB: From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.
CPDV May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen. BSB BSB: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
