2 CPDV But the earth was empty and unoccupied, and darknesses were over the face of the abyss; and so the Spirit of God was brought over the waters. The Second Day 6 CPDV God also said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide waters from waters.” BSB BSB: And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters, to separate the waters from the waters.”
7 CPDV And God made a firmament, and he divided the waters that were under the firmament, from those that were above the firmament. And so it became. BSB BSB: So God made the expanse and separated the waters beneath it from the waters above. And it was so.

10 CPDV And God called the dry land, ‘Earth,’ and he called the gathering of the waters, ‘Seas.’ And God saw that it was good. BSB BSB: God called the dry land “earth,” and the gathering of waters He called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
11 CPDV And he said, “Let the land spring forth green plants, both those producing seed, and fruit-bearing trees, producing fruit according to their kind, whose seed is within itself, over all the earth.” And so it became. BSB BSB: Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees, each bearing fruit with seed according to its kind.” And it was so.
12 CPDV And the land brought forth green plants, both those producing seed, according to their kind, and trees producing fruit, with each having its own way of sowing, according to its species. 16 CPDV And God made two great lights: a greater light, to rule over the day, and a lesser light, to rule over the night, along with the stars. BSB BSB: God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. And He made the stars as well.
17 CPDV And he set them in the firmament of heaven, to give light over all the earth, BSB BSB: God set these lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth,
18 CPDV and to rule over the day as well as the night, and to divide light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. BSB BSB: to preside over the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

And God saw that it was good. BSB BSB: So God created the great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters teemed according to their kinds, and every winged bird after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
22 CPDV And he blessed them, saying: “Increase and multiply, and fill the waters of the sea. And let the birds be multiplied above the land.” BSB BSB: Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters of the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
