The Descendants of Esau (1 Chronicles 1:35–37)
1 CPDV Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom. BSB BSB: This is the account of Esau (that is, Edom).
2 CPDV Esau took wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite, BSB BSB: Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite,

4 CPDV Then Adah bore Eliphaz. Basemath conceived Reuel. BSB BSB: And Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, Basemath gave birth to Reuel,
5 CPDV Oholibamah conceived Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan. BSB BSB: and Oholibamah gave birth to Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These were the sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6 CPDV Then Esau took his wives, and sons, and daughters, and every soul of his house, and his substance, and cattle, and whatever he was able to obtain in the land of Canaan, and he went into another region, withdrawing from his brother Jacob. 7 CPDV For they were very wealthy and were not able to live together. Neither was the land of their sojourn able to sustain them, because of the multitude of their flocks. 8 CPDV And Esau lived at mount Seir: he is Edom. BSB BSB: So Esau (that is, Edom) settled in the area of Mount Seir.
9 CPDV So these are the generations of Esau, the father of Edom, at mount Seir, BSB BSB: This is the account of Esau, the father of the Edomites, in the area of Mount Seir.
10 CPDV and these are the names of his sons: Eliphaz the son of Adah, the wife of Esau, likewise Reuel, the son of Basemath, his wife. BSB BSB: These are the names of Esau’s sons: Eliphaz son of Esau’s wife Adah, and Reuel son of Esau’s wife Basemath.
11 CPDV And Eliphaz had sons: Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenez. BSB BSB: The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 CPDV Now Timna was the concubine of Eliphaz, the son of Esau. And she bore him Amalek. These are the sons of Adah, the wife of Esau. BSB BSB: Additionally, Timna, a concubine of Esau’s son Eliphaz, gave birth to Amalek. These are the grandsons of Esau’s wife Adah.

17 CPDV Likewise, these are the sons of Reuel, the son of Esau: leader Nahath, leader Zerah, leader Shammah, leader Mizzah. And these were the leaders of Reuel, in the land of Edom. 18 CPDV Now these are the sons of Oholibamah, the wife of Esau: leader Jeush, leader Jalam, leader Korah. These were the leaders of Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah and the wife of Esau. The Descendants of Seir (1 Chronicles 1:38–42)
20 CPDV These are the sons of Seir, the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, BSB BSB: These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who were living in the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

22 CPDV Now Lotan produced sons: Hori and Heman. But the sister of Lotan was Timna. BSB BSB: The sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam. Timna was Lotan’s sister.
23 CPDV And these are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, and Shepho, and Onam. BSB BSB: These are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 CPDV And these are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness, when he was pasturing the donkeys of his father Zibeon. The Kings of Edom (1 Chronicles 1:43–54)
32 CPDV Bela the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dinhabah. BSB BSB: Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom; the name of his city was Dinhabah.
33 CPDV Then Bela died, and Jobab, the son of Zerah from Bozrah, reigned in his place. BSB BSB: When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigned in his place.
34 CPDV And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place. BSB BSB: When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
35 CPDV Likewise, this one having died, Hadad the son of Bedad reigned in his place. He struck down Midian in the region of Moab. And the name of his city was Avith. 36 CPDV And when Adad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place. BSB BSB: When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah reigned in his place.
37 CPDV Likewise, this one being dead, Shaul of the river Rehoboth, reigned in his place. BSB BSB: When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the Euphrates reigned in his place.
38 CPDV And when he also had passed away, Baal-hanan, the son of Achbor, succeeded to the kingdom. BSB BSB: When Shaul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his place.
39 CPDV Likewise, this one being dead, Hadar reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pau. And his wife was called Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab. BSB BSB: When Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, Hadad reigned in his place. His city was named Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.
40 CPDV Therefore, these were the names of the leaders of Esau, by their families, and places, and in their vocabulary: leader Timna, leader Alvah, leader Jetheth, BSB BSB: These are the names of Esau’s chiefs, according to their families and regions, by their names: Chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,
