Simeon’s Inheritance 1 CPDV And the second lot went out, for the sons of Simeon by their families. And their inheritance was, BSB BSB: The second lot came out for the clans of the tribe of Simeon: Their inheritance lay within the territory of Judah
2 CPDV in the midst of the possession of the sons of Judah: Beersheba, and Sheba, and Moladah, BSB BSB: and included Beersheba (or Sheba), Moladah,
3 CPDV and Hazar-shual, Balah, and Ezem, BSB BSB: Hazar-shual, Balah, Ezem,
4 CPDV and Eltolad, Bethul, and Hormah, BSB BSB: Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,
5 CPDV and Ziklag, and Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susah, BSB BSB: Ziklag, Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susah,
6 CPDV and Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen: thirteen cities, and their villages; BSB BSB: Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen—thirteen cities, along with their villages.
7 CPDV Ain and Enrimmon, and Ether and Ashan: four cities, and their villages; BSB BSB: Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan—four cities, along with their villages,
8 CPDV all villages around these cities, as far as Baalath-beer, the high place facing the southern region. This is the inheritance of the sons of Simeon, according to their families, BSB BSB: and all the villages surrounding these cities as far as Baalath-beer (Ramah of the Negev). This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Simeon.
9 CPDV within the possession and lot of the sons of Judah, which was greater. And for this reason, the sons of Simeon had a possession in the midst of their inheritance. BSB BSB: The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the territory of Judah, because the share for Judah’s descendants was too large for them. So the Simeonites received an inheritance within Judah’s portion.
Zebulun’s Inheritance 10 CPDV And the third lot fell to the sons of Zebulun, by their families; and the limit of their possession was set as far as Sarid. BSB BSB: The third lot came up for the clans of the tribe of Zebulun: The border of their inheritance stretched as far as Sarid.
11 CPDV And it ascends from the sea and from Mareal. And it passes on to Dabbesheth, as far as the torrent, which is opposite Jokneam. BSB BSB: It went up westward to Maralah, reached Dabbesheth, and met the brook east of Jokneam.
12 CPDV And it turns back from Sarid, to the east, to the end of Chisloth-tabor. And it goes out to Daberath, and it ascends opposite Japhia. BSB BSB: From Sarid it turned eastward along the border of Chisloth-tabor and went on to Daberath and up to Japhia.
13 CPDV And from there, it continues to the eastern region of Gathhepher and Ethkazin. And goes out to Rimmon, Amthar, and Neah. BSB BSB: From there it crossed eastward to Gath-hepher and to Eth-kazin; it extended to Rimmon and curved around toward Neah.
14 CPDV And it circles to the north at Hannathon. And its exits are at the Valley of Iphtahel; BSB BSB: Then the border circled around the north side of Neah to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah-el.
15 CPDV and Kattath and Nahalal, and Shimron and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities, and their villages. BSB BSB: It also included Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem. There were twelve cities, along with their villages.
16 CPDV This is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, by their families, the cities and their villages. BSB BSB: This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Zebulun, including these cities and their villages.
Issachar’s Inheritance 17 CPDV The fourth lot went out to Issachar, by their families. BSB BSB: The fourth lot came out for the clans of the tribe of Issachar:
18 CPDV And his inheritance was: Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem, BSB BSB: Their territory included Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem,
19 CPDV and Hapharaim, and Shion, and Anaharath, BSB BSB: Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,
20 CPDV and Rabbith and Kishion, Ebez BSB BSB: Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,
21 CPDV and Remeth, and Engannim, and Enhaddah, and Bethpazzez. BSB BSB: Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez.
22 CPDV And its limit reaches to Tabor and Shahazumah and Beth-shemesh; and its exits shall be at the Jordan: sixteen cities, and their villages. BSB BSB: The border reached Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth-shemesh, and ended at the Jordan. There were sixteen cities, along with their villages.
23 CPDV This is the possession of the sons of Issachar by their families, the cities and their villages. BSB BSB: This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Issachar, including these cities and their villages.
Asher’s Inheritance 24 CPDV And the fifth lot fell to the tribe of the sons of Asher, by their families. BSB BSB: The fifth lot came out for the clans of the tribe of Asher:
25 CPDV And their border was: Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph, BSB BSB: Their territory included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph,
26 CPDV and Allammelech, and Amad, and Mishal. And it extends even to Carmel by the sea, and Shihor, and Libnath. BSB BSB: Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal. On the west the border touched Carmel and Shihor-libnath,
27 CPDV And it turns back toward the east at Bethdagon. And it continues on as far as Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtahel, toward the north, at Beth-emek and Neiel. And it goes out to the left of Cabul, BSB BSB: then turned eastward toward Beth-dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah-el, and went north to Beth-emek and Neiel, passing Cabul on the left.
28 CPDV and to Ebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, as far as the great Sidon. BSB BSB: It went on to Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon.
29 CPDV And it turns back at Ramah, even to the very fortified city of Tyre, and even to Hosah. 30 CPDV and Ummah, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty-two cities, and their villages. BSB BSB: Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob. There were twenty-two cities, along with their villages.
31 CPDV This is the possession of the sons of Asher, by their families, and the cities and their villages. BSB BSB: This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Asher, including these cities and their villages.
Naphtali’s Inheritance 32 CPDV The sixth lot fell to the sons of Naphtali, by their families. BSB BSB: The sixth lot came out for the clans of the tribe of Naphtali:
33 CPDV And its border begins from Heleph and Elon, into Zaanannim, and Adami, which is Nekeb, and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum. And its exits are as far as the Jordan. BSB BSB: Their border started at Heleph and the great tree of Zaanannim, passing Adami-nekeb and Jabneel as far as Lakkum and ending at the Jordan.
34 CPDV And the border turns back to the west at Aznoth-tabor, and it goes out from there to Hukkok. And continues on to Zebulun, in the south, and to Asher, in the west, and to Judah, at the Jordan, toward the rising of the sun. BSB BSB: Then the border turned westward to Aznoth-tabor and ran from there to Hukkok, touching Zebulun on the south side, Asher on the west, and Judah at the Jordan on the east.
35 CPDV And the most fortified cities are Ziddim, Zer and Hammath, and Rakkath, and Chinnereth, BSB BSB: The fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth,
36 CPDV and Adamah and Ramah, Hazor BSB BSB: Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,

39 CPDV This is the possession of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, by their families, the cities and their villages. BSB BSB: This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Naphtali, including these cities and their villages.
Dan’s Inheritance 40 CPDV The seventh lot went out to the tribe of the sons of Dan, by their families. BSB BSB: The seventh lot came out for the clans of the tribe of Dan:
41 CPDV And the border of their possession was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh, that is, the City of the Sun, BSB BSB: The territory of their inheritance included Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir-shemesh,
42 CPDV Sha-alabbin, and Aijalon, and Ithlah, BSB BSB: Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,
43 CPDV Elon, and Timnah, and Ekron, BSB BSB: Elon, Timnah, Ekron,
44 CPDV Eltekeh, Gibbethon and Baalath, BSB BSB: Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath,
45 CPDV and Jehud, and Bene and Berak, and Gath-Rimmon, BSB BSB: Jehud, Bene-berak, Gath-rimmon,
46 CPDV and Mejarkon and Rakkon, with a border that looks toward Joppa, BSB BSB: Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, including the territory across from Joppa.
47 CPDV and there the last part is concluded. And the sons of Dan ascended and fought against Leshem, and they seized it. And they struck it with the mouth of the sword, and they possessed it, and they lived in it, calling it by the name of Leshem-Dan, according to the name of their father Dan. So they took possession of Leshem, settled there, and renamed it after their father Dan.)

Joshua’s Inheritance 49 CPDV And when he had completed dividing the land by lot to each one by their tribes, the sons of Israel gave a possession to Joshua, the son of Nun, in their midst, BSB BSB: When they had finished distributing the land into its territories, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them,
50 CPDV in accord with the precept of the Lord, the city he requested, Timnath-Serah, on mount Ephraim. And he built up the city, and he lived in it. BSB BSB: as the LORD had commanded. They gave him the city of Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim, as he requested. He rebuilt the city and settled in it.
51 CPDV These are the possessions which Eleazar, the priest, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the leaders of the families and tribes of the sons of Israel divided by lot at Shiloh, before the Lord, at the door of the Tabernacle of the Testimony. And so did they divide the land. BSB BSB: These are the inheritances that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the families distributed by lot to the tribes of Israel at Shiloh before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. So they finished dividing up the land.
