9 CPDV And Uzziah conceived Jotham. And Jotham conceived Ahaz. And Ahaz conceived Hezekiah. BSB BSB: Uzziah was the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah.

11 CPDV And Josiah conceived Jechoniah and his brothers in the transmigration of Babylon. BSB BSB: and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.
12 CPDV And after the transmigration of Babylon, Jechoniah conceived Shealtiel. And Shealtiel conceived Zerubbabel. BSB BSB: After the exile to Babylon: Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
13 CPDV And Zerubbabel conceived Abiud. And Abiud conceived Eliakim. And Eliakim conceived Azor. BSB BSB: Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, Abiud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azor.
14 CPDV And Azor conceived Zadok. And Zadok conceived Achim. And Achim conceived Eliud. BSB BSB: Azor was the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Achim, and Achim the father of Eliud.
15 CPDV And Eliud conceived Eleazar. And Eleazar conceived Matthan. And Matthan conceived Jacob. BSB BSB: Eliud was the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,
16 CPDV And Jacob conceived Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. BSB BSB: and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
The Birth of Jesus (Isaiah 7:10–16; Luke 2:1–7)
19 CPDV Then Joseph, her husband, since he was just and was not willing to hand her over, preferred to send her away secretly. BSB BSB: Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and was unwilling to disgrace her publicly, he resolved to divorce her quietly.
20 CPDV But while thinking over these things, behold, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to accept Mary as your wife. For what has been formed in her is of the Holy Spirit. BSB BSB: But after he had pondered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to embrace Mary as your wife, for the One conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21 CPDV And she shall give birth to a son. And you shall call his name JESUS. For he shall accomplish the salvation of his people from their sins.” BSB BSB: She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”
23 CPDV “Behold, a virgin shall conceive in her womb, and she shall give birth to a son. And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which means: God is with us.” BSB BSB: “Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”).
24 CPDV Then Joseph, arising from sleep, did just as the Angel of the Lord had instructed him, and he accepted her as his wife. BSB BSB: When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and embraced Mary as his wife.
25 CPDV And he knew her not, yet she bore her son, the firstborn. And he called his name JESUS. BSB BSB: But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a Son. And he gave Him the name Jesus.
