Psalm 11 11 Psalms Book 1 Catholic Public Domain Version In the LORD I Take Refuge (Habakkuk 1:12–17)
CPDV Unto the end. A Psalm of David. I trust in the Lord. How can you say to my soul, “Sojourn to the mountain, like a sparrow.” BSB BSB: For the choirmaster. Of David. In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: “Flee like a bird to your mountain!
CPDV For behold, the sinners have bent their bow. They have prepared their arrows in the quiver, so as to shoot arrows in the dark at the upright of heart. BSB BSB: For behold, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrow on the string to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.
CPDV For they have destroyed the things that you have completed. But what has the just one done? BSB BSB: If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
CPDV The Lord is in his holy temple. The Lord’s throne is in heaven. His eyes look upon the poor. His eyelids question the sons of men. BSB BSB: The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD is on His heavenly throne. His eyes are watching closely; they examine the sons of men.
CPDV The Lord questions the just and the impious. Yet he who loves iniquity, hates his own soul. BSB BSB: The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked; His soul hates the lover of violence.
CPDV He will rain down snares upon sinners. Fire and brimstone and windstorms will be the portion of their cup. BSB BSB: On the wicked He will rain down fiery coals and sulfur; a scorching wind will be their portion.
CPDV For the Lord is just, and he has chosen justice. His countenance has beheld equity. BSB BSB: For the LORD is righteous; He loves justice. The upright will see His face.
