1. I Lift My Voice to the LORD

   (1 Samuel 22:1–5; Psalm 57:1–11)

2. 1CPDVThe understanding of David. A prayer, when he was in the cave. With my voice, I cried out to the Lord. With my voice, I made supplication to the Lord.BSBBSB: A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave. A prayer. I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift my voice to the LORD for mercy.
3. 2CPDVIn his sight, I pour out my prayer, and before him, I declare my tribulation.BSBBSB: I pour out my complaint before Him; I reveal my trouble to Him.
4. 3CPDVThough my spirit may become faint within me, even then, you have known my paths. Along this way, which I have been walking, they have hidden a snare for me.BSBBSB: Although my spirit grows faint within me, You know my way. Along the path I travel they have hidden a snare for me.
5. 4CPDVI considered toward the right, and I looked, but there was no one who would know me. Flight has perished before me, and there is no one who has concern for my soul.BSBBSB: Look to my right and see; no one attends to me. There is no refuge for me; no one cares for my soul.
6. 5CPDVI cried out to you, O Lord. I said: You are my hope, my portion in the land of the living.BSBBSB: I cry to You, O LORD: “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”
7. 6CPDVAttend to my supplication. For I have been humbled exceedingly. Free me from my persecutors, for they have been fortified against me.BSBBSB: Listen to my cry, for I am brought quite low. Rescue me from my pursuers, for they are too strong for me.
8. 7CPDVLead my soul out of confinement in order to confess your name. The just are waiting for me, until you repay me.BSBBSB: Free my soul from prison, that I may praise Your name. The righteous will gather around me because of Your goodness to me.
