CPDV Unto the end. A Psalm of David. Hear, O God, my prayer of supplication. Rescue my soul from the fear of the enemy. BSB BSB: For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Hear, O God, my voice of complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy.
CPDV You have protected me from the assembly of the malignant, from a multitude of workers of iniquity. BSB BSB: Hide me from the scheming of the wicked, from the mob of workers of iniquity,
CPDV For they have sharpened their tongues like a sword; they have formed their bow into a bitter thing, BSB BSB: who sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows,
CPDV so that they may shoot arrows from hiding at the immaculate. BSB BSB: ambushing the innocent in seclusion, shooting suddenly, without fear.
CPDV They will suddenly shoot arrows at him, and they will not be afraid. They are resolute in their wicked talk. They have discussed hidden snares. They have said, “Who will see them?” BSB BSB: They hold fast to their evil purpose; they speak of hiding their snares. “Who will see them?” they say.
CPDV They have been searching carefully for iniquities. Their exhaustive search has failed. Man will approach with a deep heart, BSB BSB: They devise injustice and say, “We have perfected a secret plan.” For the inner man and the heart are mysterious.
CPDV and God will be exalted. The arrows of the little ones have become their wounds, BSB BSB: But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly they will be wounded.
CPDV and their tongues have been weakened against them. All those who saw them have been troubled; BSB BSB: They will be made to stumble, their own tongues turned against them. All who see will shake their heads.
CPDV and every man was afraid. And they announced the works of God, and they understood his acts. BSB BSB: Then all mankind will fear and proclaim the work of God; so they will ponder what He has done.
CPDV The just will rejoice in the Lord, and they will hope in him. And all the upright of heart will be praised. BSB BSB: Let the righteous rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in Him; let all the upright in heart exult.
