Twenty-Four Divisions of Priests 1 DBY And the divisions of the sons of Aaron: the sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. BSB BSB: These were the divisions of the descendants of Aaron. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
2 DBY And Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children; and Eleazar and Ithamar exercised the priesthood. BSB BSB: But Nadab and Abihu died before their father did, and they had no sons; so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.
3 DBY And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their office in their service. BSB BSB: With the help of Eleazar’s descendant Zadok and Ithamar’s descendant Ahimelech, David divided them according to the offices of their service.
4 DBY And there were more head-men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar, and thus were they divided: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen heads of fathers' houses, and eight of the sons of Ithamar according to their fathers' houses. BSB BSB: Since more leaders were found among Eleazar’s descendants than those of Ithamar, they were divided accordingly. There were sixteen heads of families from the descendants of Eleazar and eight from the descendants of Ithamar.
5 DBY And they were divided by lot, one with another; for the princes of the sanctuary and the princes of God were of the sons of Eleazar and of the sons of Ithamar. BSB BSB: Thus they were divided by lot, for there were officers of the sanctuary and officers of God among both Eleazar’s and Ithamar’s descendants.
6 DBY And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, one of the Levites, inscribed them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the chief fathers of the priests and Levites: one father's house was drawn for Eleazar, and one drawn for Ithamar. BSB BSB: The scribe, Shemaiah son of Nethanel, a Levite, recorded their names in the presence of the king and of the officers: Zadok the priest, Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and the heads of families of the priests and the Levites—one family being taken from Eleazar, and then one from Ithamar.
7 DBY And the first lot came forth for Jehoiarib, the second for Jedaiah, BSB BSB: The first lot fell to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,
8 DBY the third for Harim, the fourth for Seorim, BSB BSB: the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
9 DBY the fifth for Malchijah, the sixth for Mijamin, BSB BSB: the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
10 DBY the seventh for Hakkoz, the eighth for Abijah, BSB BSB: the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
11 DBY the ninth for Jeshuah, the tenth for Shecaniah, BSB BSB: the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
12 DBY the eleventh for Eliashib, the twelfth for Jakim, BSB BSB: the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
13 DBY the thirteenth for Huppah, the fourteenth for Jeshebeab, BSB BSB: the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,

18 DBY the twenty-third for Delaiah, the twenty-fourth for Maaziah. BSB BSB: the twenty-third to Delaiah, and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.
19 DBY This is their ordering in their service to come into the house of Jehovah, according to their ordinance, through Aaron their father, as Jehovah the God of Israel had commanded him. BSB BSB: This was their appointed order for service when they entered the house of the LORD, according to the regulations prescribed for them by their forefather Aaron, as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.
The Rest of the Levites 20 DBY And as for the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah. BSB BSB: Now these were the rest of the descendants of Levi: From the sons of Amram: Shubael; from the sons of Shubael: Jehdeiah.
21 DBY Of Rehabiah, of the sons of Rehabiah, the head was Jishijah. BSB BSB: As for Rehabiah, from his sons: The first was Isshiah.
22 DBY Of the Jizharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath. BSB BSB: From the Izharites: Shelomoth; from the sons of Shelomoth: Jahath.
23 DBY — And the sons of Hebron : Jerijah the head , Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, Jekameam the fourth. BSB BSB: From the sons of Hebron: Jeriah was the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
24 DBY The sons of Uzziel, Micah; of the sons of Micah, Shamir; BSB BSB: From the sons of Uzziel: Micah; from the sons of Micah: Shamir.
25 DBY the brother of Micah was Jishijah; of the sons of Jishijah, Zechariah. BSB BSB: The brother of Micah: Isshiah; from the sons of Isshiah: Zechariah.
26 DBY The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; the sons of Jaaziah, his son. BSB BSB: The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah: Beno.
27 DBY The sons of Merari by Jaaziah his son: Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri. BSB BSB: The descendants of Merari from Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.
28 DBY Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons. BSB BSB: From Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.
29 DBY Of Kish, the sons of Kish: Jerahmeel. BSB BSB: From Kish: Jerahmeel the son of Kish.
30 DBY And the sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites according to their fathers' houses. BSB BSB: And the sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites, according to their families.
31 DBY These likewise cast lots just as their brethren the sons of Aaron before David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the chief fathers of the priests and Levites, — the chief fathers just as the youngest of their brethren. BSB BSB: As their brothers the descendants of Aaron did, they also cast lots in the presence of King David and of Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the families of the priests and Levites—the family heads and their younger brothers alike.
