Laws for Peace Offerings (Leviticus 7:11–21)
1 DBY And if his offering be a sacrifice of peace-offering, — if he present it of the herd, whether a male or female, he shall present it without blemish before Jehovah. BSB BSB: “If one’s offering is a peace offering and he offers an animal from the herd, whether male or female, he must present it without blemish before the LORD.
2 DBY And he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and slaughter it at the entrance of the tent of meeting; and Aaron's sons, the priests, shall sprinkle the blood on the altar round about. BSB BSB: He is to lay his hand on the head of the offering and slaughter it at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall splatter the blood on all sides of the altar.
3 DBY And he shall present of the sacrifice of peace-offering an offering by fire to Jehovah; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is on the inwards, BSB BSB: From the peace offering he is to bring a food offering to the LORD: the fat that covers the entrails, all the fat that is on them,
4 DBY and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the net above the liver which he shall take away as far as the kidneys; BSB BSB: both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the kidneys.
5 DBY and Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt-offering which lieth on the wood that is upon the fire: it is an offering by fire to Jehovah of a sweet odour. BSB BSB: Then Aaron’s sons are to burn it on the altar atop the burnt offering that is on the burning wood, as a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
6 DBY And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace-offering to Jehovah be of small cattle, male or female, he shall present it without blemish. BSB BSB: If, however, one’s peace offering to the LORD is from the flock, he must present a male or female without blemish.
7 DBY If he present a sheep for his offering, then shall he present it before Jehovah, BSB BSB: If he is presenting a lamb for his offering, he must present it before the LORD.
8 DBY and shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and slaughter it before the tent of meeting; and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about. BSB BSB: He is to lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it in front of the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall splatter its blood on all sides of the altar.
9 DBY And he shall present of the sacrifice of peace-offering an offering by fire to Jehovah; the fat thereof, the whole fat tail, which he shall take off close by the backbone, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is on the inwards, BSB BSB: And from the peace offering he shall bring a food offering to the LORD consisting of its fat: the entire fat tail cut off close to the backbone, the fat that covers the entrails, all the fat that is on them,
10 DBY and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the net above the liver which he shall take away as far as the kidneys; BSB BSB: both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the kidneys.
11 DBY and the priest shall burn it on the altar: it is the food of the offering by fire to Jehovah. BSB BSB: Then the priest is to burn them on the altar as food, a food offering to the LORD.
12 DBY And if his offering be a goat, then he shall present it before Jehovah. BSB BSB: If one’s offering is a goat, he is to present it before the LORD.
13 DBY And he shall lay his hand on the head of it, and slaughter it before the tent of meeting; and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the blood thereof on the altar round about. BSB BSB: He must lay his hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall splatter its blood on all sides of the altar.
14 DBY And he shall present thereof his offering, an offering by fire to Jehovah; the fat that covereth the inwards and all the fat that is on the inwards, BSB BSB: And from his offering he shall present a food offering to the LORD: the fat that covers the entrails, all the fat that is on them,
15 DBY and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the net above the liver which he shall take away as far as the kidneys; BSB BSB: both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the kidneys.
16 DBY and the priest shall burn them on the altar: it is the food of the offering by fire for a sweet odour. All the fat shall be Jehovah's. BSB BSB: Then the priest is to burn the food on the altar as a food offering, a pleasing aroma. All the fat is the LORD’s.
17 DBY It is an everlasting statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings: no fat and no blood shall ye eat.BSB BSB: This is a permanent statute for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood.”
