DBY And they said, Has Jehovah indeed spoken only to Moses? has he not spoken also to us? And Jehovah heard it. BSB BSB: “Does the LORD speak only through Moses?” they said. “Does He not also speak through us?” And the LORD heard this.
DBY But the man Moses was very meek, above all men that were upon the face of the earth. BSB BSB: Now Moses was a very humble man, more so than any man on the face of the earth.
DBY Then Jehovah spoke suddenly to Moses, and to Aaron, and to Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tent of meeting. And they went out, they three. BSB BSB: And suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “You three, come out to the Tent of Meeting.” So the three went out,
DBY And Jehovah came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood at the entrance of the tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forth. 7 DBY Not so my servant Moses: he is faithful in all my house. BSB BSB: But this is not so with My servant Moses; he is faithful in all My house.
DBY Mouth to mouth do I speak to him openly, and not in riddles; and the form of Jehovah doth he behold. Why then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moses? BSB BSB: I speak with him face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you unafraid to speak against My servant Moses?”
DBY And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against them, and he went away; BSB BSB: So the anger of the LORD burned against them, and He departed.
DBY and the cloud departed from off the tent. And behold, Miriam was leprous as snow; and Aaron turned toward Miriam, and behold, she was leprous. BSB BSB: As the cloud lifted from above the Tent, suddenly Miriam became leprous, white as snow. Aaron turned toward her, saw that she was leprous,
DBY Then Aaron said to Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not this sin upon us, wherein we have been foolish, and have sinned! BSB BSB: and said to Moses, “My lord, please do not hold against us this sin we have so foolishly committed.
DBY Let her not be as one stillborn, half of whose flesh is consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb. BSB BSB: Please do not let her be like a stillborn infant whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb.”
DBY And Moses cried to Jehovah, saying, O God, heal her, I beseech thee! BSB BSB: So Moses cried out to the LORD, “O God, please heal her!”
DBY And Jehovah said to Moses, But had her father anyways spat in her face, should she not be shamed seven days? She shall be shut outside the camp seven days, and afterwards she shall be received in again . BSB BSB: But the LORD answered Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Let her be confined outside the camp for seven days; after that she may be brought back in.”
DBY And Miriam was shut outside the camp seven days; and the people did not journey till Miriam was received in again . BSB BSB: So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until she was brought in again.
DBY And afterwards the people journeyed from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran. BSB BSB: After that, the people set out from Hazeroth and camped in the Wilderness of Paran.
