Introduction to PsalmsBOOK I The Two Paths (Matthew 5:3–12; Luke 6:20–23)
DBY Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, and standeth not in the way of sinners, and sitteth not in the seat of scorners; BSB BSB: Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or set foot on the path of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers.
DBY But his delight is in Jehovah's law, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. BSB BSB: But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night.
DBY And he is as a tree planted by brooks of water, which giveth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf fadeth not; and all that he doeth prospereth. BSB BSB: He is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does.
DBY The wicked are not so; but are as the chaff which the wind driveth away. BSB BSB: Not so the wicked! For they are like chaff driven off by the wind.
DBY Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. BSB BSB: Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
DBY For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish. BSB BSB: For the LORD guards the path of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
