The LORD Has Heard My Voice 1 DBY I love Jehovah, for he hath heard my voice and my supplications; BSB BSB: I love the LORD, for He has heard my voice—my appeal for mercy.
2 DBY For he hath inclined his ear unto me, and I will call upon him during all my days. BSB BSB: Because He has inclined His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live.
3 DBY The bands of death encompassed me, and the anguish of Sheol took hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow: BSB BSB: The ropes of death entangled me; the anguish of Sheol overcame me; I was confronted by trouble and sorrow.
4 DBY Then called I upon the name of Jehovah: I beseech thee, Jehovah, deliver my soul. BSB BSB: Then I called on the name of the LORD: “O LORD, deliver my soul!”
5 DBY Gracious is Jehovah and righteous; and our God is merciful. BSB BSB: The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.
6 DBY Jehovah keepeth the simple: I was brought low, and he saved me. BSB BSB: The LORD preserves the simplehearted; I was helpless, and He saved me.
7 DBY Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for Jehovah hath dealt bountifully with thee. BSB BSB: Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
8 DBY For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, my feet from falling. BSB BSB: For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
9 DBY I will walk before Jehovah in the land of the living. BSB BSB: I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
10 DBY I believed, therefore have I spoken. As for me, I was greatly afflicted. BSB BSB: I believed, therefore I said, “I am greatly afflicted.”
11 DBY I said in my haste, All men are liars. BSB BSB: In my alarm I said, “All men are liars!”
12 DBY What shall I render unto Jehovah, for all his benefits toward me? BSB BSB: How can I repay the LORD for all His goodness to me?
13 DBY I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of Jehovah. BSB BSB: I will lift the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD.
14 DBY I will perform my vows unto Jehovah, yea, before all his people. BSB BSB: I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people.
15 DBY Precious in the sight of Jehovah is the death of his saints. BSB BSB: Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.
16 DBY Yea, Jehovah! for I am thy servant; I am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds. BSB BSB: Truly, O LORD, I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have broken my bonds.
17 DBY I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of Jehovah. BSB BSB: I will offer to You a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the LORD.
18 DBY I will perform my vows unto Jehovah, yea, before all his people, BSB BSB: I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all His people,
19 DBY In the courts of Jehovah's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah! BSB BSB: in the courts of the LORD’s house, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
