The Lamb Takes the Scroll 1 DBY And I saw on the right hand of him that sat upon the throne a book, written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. BSB BSB: Then I saw a scroll in the right hand of the One seated on the throne. It had writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals.
2 DBY And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals? BSB BSB: And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”
3 DBY And no one was able in the heaven, or upon the earth, or underneath the earth, to open the book, or to regard it. BSB BSB: But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or look inside it.
4 DBY And I wept much because no one had been found worthy to open the book nor to regard it. BSB BSB: And I began to weep bitterly, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside it.
7 DBY and it came and took it out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. BSB BSB: And He came and took the scroll from the right hand of the One seated on the throne.
8 DBY And when it took the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell before the Lamb, having each a harp and golden bowls full of incenses, which are the prayers of the saints. BSB BSB: When He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
9 DBY And they sing a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open its seals; because thou hast been slain, and hast redeemed to God, by thy blood, out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation, BSB BSB: And they sang a new song: “Worthy are You to take the scroll and open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood You purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
10 DBY and made them to our God kings and priests; and they shall reign over the earth. BSB BSB: You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign upon the earth.”
The Lamb Exalted 11 DBY And I saw, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and their number was ten thousands of ten thousands and thousands of thousands; BSB BSB: Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels encircling the throne, and the living creatures and the elders. And their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands.
12 DBY saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that has been slain, to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. BSB BSB: In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
13 DBY And every creature which is in the heaven and upon the earth and under the earth, and those that are upon the sea, and all things in them, heard I saying, To him that sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb, blessing, and honour, and glory, and might, to the ages of ages. BSB BSB: And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever!”
14 DBY And the four living creatures said, Amen; and the elders fell down and did homage. BSB BSB: And the four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
