1. 1DEUTKWDie Ephraimiten haben ihr Gefallen an Sturm und jagen dem Ostwinde nach; jeden Tag häufen sie Lüge und Gewaltthat: sie schließen ein Bündnis mit den Assyriern, und zu den Ägyptern wird Öl gebracht.BSBBSB: Ephraim feeds on the wind and pursues the east wind all day long; he multiplies lies and violence; he makes a covenant with Assyria and sends olive oil to Egypt.
2. 2DEUTKWAber Jahwe wird mit Juda ins Gericht gehen und wird Jakob nach seinem Wandel heimsuchen, ihm nach seinen Handlungen vergelten.BSBBSB: The LORD has a charge to bring against Judah. He will punish Jacob according to his ways and repay him according to his deeds.
3. 3DEUTKWIm Mutterschoße schon überlistete er seinen Bruder und als kräftiger Mann kämpfte er mit Gott.BSBBSB: In the womb he grasped his brother’s heel, and in his vigor he wrestled with God.
4. 4DEUTKWEr kämpfte gegen eine Gotteserscheinung und siegte; er weinte und bat sie um Erbarmen. Sie fand ihn in Bethel und dort redete sie mit ihm -BSBBSB: Yes, he struggled with the angel and prevailed; he wept and sought His favor; he found Him at Bethel and spoke with Him there—
5. 5DEUTKWnämlich Jahwe, der Gott der Heerscharen, er, der Jahwe heißt -BSBBSB: the LORD God of Hosts, the LORD is His name of renown.
6. 6DEUTKWDu sollst durch deinen Gott zurückkehren! Halte auf Liebe und Recht und harre beständig deines Gottes!BSBBSB: But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and always wait on your God.
7. 7DEUTKWAber der Kanaaniter führte falsche Wage; er liebt es, zu übervorteilen!BSBBSB: A merchant loves to defraud with dishonest scales in his hands.
8. 8DEUTKWUnd auch der Ephraimit sprach: Bin ich doch reich geworden, habe mir Vermögen erworben! Bei all' meinem Gewinne kann man mir keine Verschuldung nachweisen, die Sünde wäre!BSBBSB: And Ephraim boasts: “How rich I have become! I have found wealth for myself. In all my labors, they can find in me no iniquity that is sinful.”
9. 9DEUTKWAber ich, Jahwe, bin doch dein Gott von Ägypten her - aufs neue kann ich dich in Zelten wohnen lassen wie zur Zeit der Versammlung -BSBBSB: But I am the LORD your God ever since the land of Egypt. I will again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the appointed feast.
10. 10DEUTKWund habe wiederholt zu den Propheten geredet; ich war es, der zahlreiche Gesichte gab und die Propheten in Gleichnissen sprechen ließ.BSBBSB: I spoke through the prophets and multiplied their visions; I gave parables through the prophets.
11. 11DEUTKWWenn die Gileaditen nichtswürdig sind, so werden sie vernichtet werden; weil sie im Gilgal Stiere opferten, sollen eben ihre Opferstätten wie Steinhaufen an den Furchen des Ackers werden.BSBBSB: Is there iniquity in Gilead? They will surely come to nothing. Do they sacrifice bulls in Gilgal? Indeed, their altars will be heaps of stones in the furrows of the field.
12. 12DEUTKWAls Jakob in das Land der Aramäer floh, ward Israel um ein Weib Knecht und um ein Weib hütete er die Herde.BSBBSB: Jacob fled to the land of Aram and Israel worked for a wife—for a wife he tended sheep.
13. 13DEUTKWDurch einen Propheten hat Jahwe die Israeliten aus Ägypten hergeführt, und durch einen Propheten ward es behütet.BSBBSB: But by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.
14. 14DEUTKWAber bitteren Ärger haben die Ephraimiten erregt. Darum wird sie ihr Herr mit ihrer Blutschuld belasten und ihr schandbares Treiben auf sie zurückfallen lassen.BSBBSB: Ephraim has provoked bitter anger, so his Lord will leave his bloodguilt upon him and repay him for his contempt.
