Twenty-Four Divisions of Priests 1 DRA Now these were the divisions of the sons of Aaron: The sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abiu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar. BSB BSB: These were the divisions of the descendants of Aaron. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
2 DRA But Nadab and Abiu died before their father, and had no children: so Eleazar, and Ithamar did the office of the priesthood. BSB BSB: But Nadab and Abihu died before their father did, and they had no sons; so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.
3 DRA And David distributed them, that is, Sadoc of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their courses and ministry. BSB BSB: With the help of Eleazar’s descendant Zadok and Ithamar’s descendant Ahimelech, David divided them according to the offices of their service.
4 DRA And there were found many more of the sons of Eleazar among the principal men, than of the sons of Ithamar. And he divided them so, that there were of the sons of Eleazar, sixteen chief men by their families: and of the sons of Ithamar eight by their families and houses. BSB BSB: Since more leaders were found among Eleazar’s descendants than those of Ithamar, they were divided accordingly. There were sixteen heads of families from the descendants of Eleazar and eight from the descendants of Ithamar.
5 DRA And he divided both the families one with the other by lot: for there were princes of the sanctuary, and princes of God, both of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar. BSB BSB: Thus they were divided by lot, for there were officers of the sanctuary and officers of God among both Eleazar’s and Ithamar’s descendants.
6 DRA And Semeias the son of Nathanael the scribe a Levite, wrote them down before the king and the princes, and Sadoc the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the princes also of the priestly and Levitical families: one house, which was over the rest, of Eleazar: and another house, which had the rest under it, of Ithamar. BSB BSB: The scribe, Shemaiah son of Nethanel, a Levite, recorded their names in the presence of the king and of the officers: Zadok the priest, Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and the heads of families of the priests and the Levites—one family being taken from Eleazar, and then one from Ithamar.
7 DRA Now the first lot came forth to Joiarib, the second to Jedei, BSB BSB: The first lot fell to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,
8 DRA The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim, BSB BSB: the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
9 DRA The fifth to Melchia, the sixth to Maiman, BSB BSB: the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
10 DRA The seventh to Accos, the eighth to Abia, BSB BSB: the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
11 DRA The ninth to Jesua, the tenth to Sechenia, BSB BSB: the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
12 DRA The eleventh to Eliasib, the twelfth to Jacim, BSB BSB: the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
13 DRA The thirteenth to Hoppha, the fourteenth to Isbaab, BSB BSB: the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
14 DRA The fifteenth to Belga, the sixteenth to Emmer, BSB BSB: the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,

17 DRA The one and twentieth to Jachin, the two and twentieth to Gamul, BSB BSB: the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,
18 DRA The three and twentieth to Dalaiau, the four and twentieth to Maaziau. BSB BSB: the twenty-third to Delaiah, and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.
19 DRA These are their courses according to their ministries, to come into the house of the Lord, and according to their manner under the hand of Aaron their father: as the Lord the God of Israel had commanded. BSB BSB: This was their appointed order for service when they entered the house of the LORD, according to the regulations prescribed for them by their forefather Aaron, as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.
The Rest of the Levites 20 DRA Now of the rest of the sons of Levi, there was of the sons of Amram, Subael: and of the sons of Subael, Jehedeia. BSB BSB: Now these were the rest of the descendants of Levi: From the sons of Amram: Shubael; from the sons of Shubael: Jehdeiah.
21 DRA Also of the sons of Rohobia the chief Jesias. BSB BSB: As for Rehabiah, from his sons: The first was Isshiah.
22 DRA And the son of Isaar Salemoth, and the son of Salemoth Jahath: BSB BSB: From the Izharites: Shelomoth; from the sons of Shelomoth: Jahath.
23 DRA And his son Jeriau the first, Amarias the second, Jahaziel the third, Jecmaan the fourth. BSB BSB: From the sons of Hebron: Jeriah was the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.

27 DRA The son also of Merari: Oziau, and Seam, and Zacchur, and Hebri. BSB BSB: The descendants of Merari from Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.
28 DRA And the son of Moholi: Eleazar, who had no sons. BSB BSB: From Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.
29 DRA And the son of Cis, Jeramael. BSB BSB: From Kish: Jerahmeel the son of Kish.
30 DRA The sons of Musi: Moholi, Eder, and Jerimoth. These are the sons of Levi according to the houses of their families. BSB BSB: And the sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites, according to their families.
31 DRA And they also cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron before David the king, and Sadoc, and Ahimelech, and the princes of the priestly and Levitical families, both the elder and the younger. The lot divided all equally. BSB BSB: As their brothers the descendants of Aaron did, they also cast lots in the presence of King David and of Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the families of the priests and Levites—the family heads and their younger brothers alike.
