DRA And they came over the strait of the sea into the country of the Gerasens. BSB BSB: On the other side of the sea, they arrived in the region of the Gerasenes.
DRA And as he went out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the monuments a man with an unclean spirit, BSB BSB: As soon as Jesus got out of the boat, He was met by a man with an unclean spirit, who was coming from the tombs.
DRA Who had his dwelling in the tombs, and no man now could bind him, not even with chains. BSB BSB: This man had been living in the tombs and could no longer be restrained, even with chains.
DRA For having been often bound with fetters and chains, he had burst the chains, and broken the fetters in pieces, and no one could tame him. BSB BSB: Though he was often bound with chains and shackles, he had broken the chains and shattered the shackles. Now there was no one with the strength to subdue him.
DRA And he was always day and night in the monuments and in the mountains, crying and cutting himself with stones. BSB BSB: Night and day in the tombs and in the mountains he kept crying out and cutting himself with stones.
DRA And seeing Jesus afar off, he ran and adored him. BSB BSB: When the man saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees before Him.
DRA And crying with a loud voice, he said: What have I to do with thee, Jesus the Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God that thou torment me not. BSB BSB: And he shouted in a loud voice, “What do You want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You before God not to torture me!”
DRA For he said unto him: Go out of the man, thou unclean spirit. BSB BSB: For Jesus had already declared, “Come out of this man, you unclean spirit!”
DRA And he asked him: What is thy name? And he saith to him: My name is Legion, for we are many. BSB BSB: “What is your name?” Jesus asked. “My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.”
DRA And he besought him much, that he would not drive him away out of the country. BSB BSB: And he begged Jesus repeatedly not to send them out of that region.
DRA And there was there near the mountain a great herd of swine, feeding. BSB BSB: There on the nearby hillside a large herd of pigs was feeding.
DRA And the spirits besought him, saying: Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. BSB BSB: So the demons begged Jesus, “Send us to the pigs, so that we may enter them.”
DRA And Jesus immediately gave them leave. And the unclean spirits going out, entered into the swine: and the herd with great violence was carried headlong into the sea, being about two thousand, and were stifled in the sea. BSB BSB: He gave them permission, and the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs, and the herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the water.
DRA And they that fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the fields. And they went out to see what was done: BSB BSB: Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened.
DRA And they came to Jesus, and they see him that was troubled with the devil, sitting, clothed, and well in his wits, and they were afraid. BSB BSB: When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons sitting there, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
DRA And they that had seen it, told them, in what manner he had been dealt with who had the devil; and concerning the swine. BSB BSB: Those who had seen it described what had happened to the demon-possessed man and also to the pigs.
DRA And they began to pray him that he would depart from their coasts. BSB BSB: And the people began to beg Jesus to leave their region.
DRA And when he went up into the ship, he that had been troubled with the devil, began to beseech him that he might be with him. BSB BSB: As He was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed by the demons begged to go with Him.
DRA And he admitted him not, but saith to him: Go into thy house to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had mercy on thee. BSB BSB: But Jesus would not allow him. “Go home to your own people,” He said, “and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and what mercy He has shown you.”
DRA And he went his way, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men wondered. BSB BSB: So the man went away and began to proclaim throughout the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And everyone was amazed.
The Healing Touch of Jesus (Matthew 9:18–26; Luke 8:40–56)

DRA For she said: If I shall touch but his garment, I shall be whole. BSB BSB: For she kept saying, “If only I touch His garments, I will be healed.”
DRA And forthwith the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the evil. BSB BSB: Immediately her bleeding stopped, and she sensed in her body that she was healed of her affliction.
DRA And immediately Jesus knowing in himself the virtue that had proceeded from him, turning to the multitude, said: Who hath touched my garments? BSB BSB: At once Jesus was aware that power had gone out from Him. Turning to the crowd, He asked, “Who touched My garments?”
DRA And his disciples said to him: Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou who hath touched me? BSB BSB: His disciples answered, “You can see the crowd pressing in on You, and yet You ask, ‘Who touched Me?’”
DRA And he looked about to see her who had done this. BSB BSB: But He kept looking around to see who had done this.
DRA But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. BSB BSB: Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him trembling in fear, and she told Him the whole truth.

DRA And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he seeth a tumult, and people weeping and wailing much. BSB BSB: When they arrived at the house of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw the commotion and the people weeping and wailing loudly.
DRA And going in, he saith to them: Why make you this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. BSB BSB: He went inside and asked, “Why all this commotion and weeping? The child is not dead, but asleep.”
DRA And they laughed him to scorn. But he having put them all out, taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. BSB BSB: And they laughed at Him. After He had put them all outside, He took the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and went in to see the child.
DRA And immediately the damsel rose up, and walked: and she was twelve years old: and they were astonished with a great astonishment. BSB BSB: Immediately the girl got up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). And at once they were utterly astounded.
DRA And he charged them strictly that no man should know it: and commanded that something should be given her to eat. BSB BSB: Then Jesus gave strict orders that no one should know about this, and He told them to give her something to eat.
