Psalm 122 122 Psalms Book 5 Douay-Rheims Bible Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem 1 DRA I rejoiced at the things that were said to me: We shall go into the house of the Lord. BSB BSB: A song of ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.”
2 DRA Our feet were standing in thy courts, O Jerusalem. BSB BSB: Our feet are standing in your gates, O Jerusalem.
3 DRA Jerusalem, which is built as a city, which is compact together. BSB BSB: Jerusalem is built up as a city united together,
4 DRA For thither did the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord: the testimony of Israel, to praise the name of the Lord. BSB BSB: where the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, as a testimony for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD.
5 DRA Because their seats have sat in judgment, seats upon the house of David. BSB BSB: For there the thrones of judgment stand, the thrones of the house of David.
6 DRA Pray ye for the things that are for the peace of Jerusalem: and abundance for them that love thee. BSB BSB: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you prosper.
7 DRA Let peace be in thy strength: and abundance in thy towers. BSB BSB: May there be peace within your walls, and prosperity inside your fortresses.”
8 DRA For the sake of my brethren, and of my neighbours, I spoke peace of thee. BSB BSB: For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9 DRA Because of the house of the Lord our God, I have sought good things for thee. BSB BSB: For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity.
