Give Praise, O Servants of the LORD (Psalm 115:1–18)
1 DRA Praise ye the name of the Lord: O you his servants, praise the Lord: BSB BSB: Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD. Give praise, O servants of the LORD,
2 DRA You that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God. BSB BSB: who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 DRA Praise ye the Lord, for the Lord is good: sing ye to his name, for it is sweet. BSB BSB: Hallelujah, for the LORD is good; sing praises to His name, for it is lovely.
4 DRA For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself: Israel for his own possession. BSB BSB: For the LORD has chosen Jacob as His own, Israel as His treasured possession.
5 DRA For I have known that the Lord is great, and our God is above all gods. BSB BSB: For I know that the LORD is great; our Lord is above all gods.
6 DRA Whatsoever the Lord hath pleased he hath done, in heaven, in earth, in the sea, and in all the deeps. BSB BSB: The LORD does all that pleases Him in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and in all their depths.
7 DRA He bringeth up clouds from the end of the earth: he hath made lightnings for the rain. He bringeth forth winds out of his stores: BSB BSB: He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
8 DRA He slew the firstborn of Egypt from man even unto beast. BSB BSB: He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, of both man and beast.
9 DRA He sent forth signs and wonders in the midst of thee, O Egypt: upon Pharao, and upon all his servants. BSB BSB: He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.
10 DRA He smote many nations, and slew mighty kings: BSB BSB: He struck down many nations and slaughtered mighty kings:
11 DRA Sehon king of the Amorrhites, and Og king of Basan, and all the kingdoms of Chanaan. BSB BSB: Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan.
12 DRA And gave their land for an inheritance, for an inheritance to his people Israel. BSB BSB: He gave their land as an inheritance, as a heritage to His people Israel.
13 DRA Thy name, O Lord, is for ever: thy memorial, O Lord, unto all generations. BSB BSB: Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your renown, O LORD, through all generations.
14 DRA For the Lord will judge his people, and will be entreated in favour of his servants. BSB BSB: For the LORD will vindicate His people and will have compassion on His servants.
15 DRA The idols of the Gentiles are silver and gold, the works of men’s hands. BSB BSB: The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.
16 DRA They have a mouth, but they speak not: they have eyes, but they see not. BSB BSB: They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;
17 DRA They have ears, but they hear not: neither is there any breath in their mouths. BSB BSB: they have ears, but cannot hear; nor is there breath in their mouths.
18 DRA Let them that make them be like to them: and every one that trusteth in them. BSB BSB: Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.
19 DRA Bless the Lord, O house of Israel: bless the Lord, O house of Aaron. BSB BSB: O house of Israel, bless the LORD; O house of Aaron, bless the LORD;
20 DRA Bless the Lord, O house of Levi: you that fear the Lord, bless the Lord. BSB BSB: O house of Levi, bless the LORD; you who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!
21 DRA Blessed be the Lord out of Sion, who dwelleth in Jerusalem. BSB BSB: Blessed be the LORD from Zion—He who dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
