To You I Lift Up My Soul 1 DRA Unto the end, a psalm for David. To thee, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul. BSB BSB: Of David. To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
2 DRA In thee, O my God, I put my trust; let me not be ashamed. BSB BSB: in You, my God, I trust. Do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me.
3 DRA Neither let my enemies laugh at me: for none of them that wait on thee shall be confounded. BSB BSB: Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame; but those who engage in treachery without cause will be disgraced.
4 DRA Let all them be confounded that act unjust things without cause. Shew, O Lord, thy ways to me, and teach me thy paths. BSB BSB: Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths.
5 DRA Direct me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art God my Saviour; and on thee have I waited all the day long. BSB BSB: Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; all day long I wait for You.
6 DRA Remember, O Lord, thy bowels of compassion; and thy mercies that are from the beginning of the world. BSB BSB: Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and loving devotion, for they are from age to age.
7 DRA The sins of my youth and my ignorances do not remember. According to thy mercy remember thou me: for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord. BSB BSB: Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my rebellious acts; remember me according to Your loving devotion, because of Your goodness, O LORD.
8 DRA The Lord is sweet and righteous: therefore he will give a law to sinners in the way. BSB BSB: Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He shows sinners the way.
9 DRA He will guide the mild in judgment: he will teach the meek his ways. BSB BSB: He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way.
10 DRA All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth, to them that seek after his covenant and his testimonies. BSB BSB: All the LORD’s ways are loving and faithful to those who keep His covenant and His decrees.
11 DRA For thy name’s sake, O Lord, thou wilt pardon my sin: for it is great. BSB BSB: For the sake of Your name, O LORD, forgive my iniquity, for it is great.
12 DRA Who is the man that feareth the Lord? He hath appointed him a law in the way he hath chosen. BSB BSB: Who is the man who fears the LORD? He will instruct him in the path chosen for him.
13 DRA His soul shall dwell in good things: and his seed shall inherit the land. BSB BSB: His soul will dwell in prosperity, and his descendants will inherit the land.
14 DRA The Lord is a firmament to them that fear him: and his covenant shall be made manifest to them. BSB BSB: The LORD confides in those who fear Him, and reveals His covenant to them.
15 DRA My eyes are ever towards the Lord: for he shall pluck my feet out of the snare. BSB BSB: My eyes are always on the LORD, for He will free my feet from the mesh.
16 DRA Look thou upon me, and have mercy on me; for I am alone and poor. BSB BSB: Turn to me and be gracious, for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 DRA The troubles of my heart are multiplied: deliver me from my necessities. BSB BSB: The troubles of my heart increase; free me from my distress.
18 DRA See my abjection and my labour; and forgive me all my sins. BSB BSB: Consider my affliction and trouble, and take away all my sins.
19 DRA Consider my enemies for they are multiplied, and have hated me with an unjust hatred. BSB BSB: Consider my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with vicious hatred.
20 DRA Keep thou my soul, and deliver me: I shall not be ashamed, for I have hoped in thee. BSB BSB: Guard my soul and deliver me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in You.
21 DRA The innocent and the upright have adhered to me: because I have waited on thee. BSB BSB: May integrity and uprightness preserve me, because I wait for You.
22 DRA Deliver Israel, O God, from all his tribulations. BSB BSB: Redeem Israel, O God, from all its distress.
