Psalm 29 29 Psalms Book 1 Douay-Rheims Bible Ascribe Glory to the LORD 1 DRA A psalm for David, at the finishing of the tabernacle. Bring to the Lord, O ye children of God: bring to the Lord the offspring of rams. BSB BSB: A Psalm of David. Ascribe to the LORD, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
2 DRA Bring to the Lord glory and honour: bring to the Lord glory to his name: adore ye the Lord in his holy court. BSB BSB: Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness.
3 DRA The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of majesty hath thundered, The Lord is upon many waters. BSB BSB: The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders; the LORD is heard over many waters.
4 DRA The voice of the Lord is in power; the voice of the Lord in magnificence. BSB BSB: The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.
5 DRA The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars: yea, the Lord shall break the cedars of Libanus. BSB BSB: The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD shatters the cedars of Lebanon.
6 DRA And shall reduce them to pieces, as a calf of Libanus, and as the beloved son of unicorns. BSB BSB: He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 DRA The voice of the Lord divideth the flame of fire: BSB BSB: The voice of the LORD strikes with flames of fire.
8 DRA The voice of the Lord shaketh the desert: and the Lord shall shake the desert of Cades. BSB BSB: The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh.
9 DRA The voice of the Lord prepareth the stags: and he will discover the thick woods: and in his temple all shall speak his glory. BSB BSB: The voice of the LORD twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in His temple all cry, “Glory!”
10 DRA The Lord maketh the flood to dwell: and the Lord shall sit king for ever. BSB BSB: The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever.
11 DRA The Lord will give strength to his people: the Lord will bless his people with peace. BSB BSB: The LORD gives His people strength; the LORD blesses His people with peace.
