Broken Bondage 1 DRA A psalm of a canticle, for the sons of Core, on the second day of the week. Great is the Lord, and exceedingly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain. 2 DRA With the joy of the whole earth is mount Sion founded, on the sides of the north, the city of the great king. BSB BSB: Beautiful in loftiness, the joy of all the earth, like the peaks of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the great King.
3 DRA In her houses shall God be known, when he shall protect her. BSB BSB: God is in her citadels; He has shown Himself to be a fortress.
4 DRA For behold the kings of the earth assembled themselves: they gathered together. BSB BSB: For behold, the kings assembled; they all advanced together.
5 DRA So they saw, and they wondered, they were troubled, they were moved: BSB BSB: They saw and were astounded; they fled in terror.
6 DRA Trembling took hold of them. There were pains as of a woman in labour. BSB BSB: Trembling seized them there, anguish like a woman in labor.
7 DRA With a vehement wind thou shalt break in pieces the ships of Tharsis. BSB BSB: With a wind from the east You wrecked the ships of Tarshish.
8 DRA As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God hath founded it for ever. BSB BSB: As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the LORD of Hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish her forever. Selah
9 DRA We have received thy mercy, O God, in the midst of thy temple. BSB BSB: Within Your temple, O God, we contemplate Your loving devotion.
10 DRA According to thy name, O God, so also is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of justice. BSB BSB: Your name, O God, like Your praise, reaches to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.
11 DRA Let mount Sion rejoice, and the daughters of Juda be glad; because of thy judgments, O Lord. BSB BSB: Mount Zion is glad, the daughters of Judah rejoice, on account of Your judgments.
12 DRA Surround Sion, and encompass her: tell ye in her towers. BSB BSB: March around Zion, encircle her, count her towers,
13 DRA Set your hearts on her strength; and distribute her houses, that ye may relate it in another generation. BSB BSB: consider her ramparts, tour her citadels, that you may tell the next generation.
14 DRA For this is God, our God unto eternity, and for ever and ever: he shall rule us for evermore. BSB BSB: For this God is our God forever and ever; He will be our guide even till death.
