I Will Give Thanks to the LORD 1 DRA Unto the end, for the hidden things of the Son. A psalm for David. I will give praise to thee, O Lord, with my whole heart: I will relate all thy wonders. BSB BSB: For the choirmaster. To the tune of “The Death of the Son.” A Psalm of David. I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart; I will recount all Your wonders.
2 DRA I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing to thy name, O thou most high. BSB BSB: I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
3 DRA When my enemy shall be turned back: they shall be weakened and perish before thy face. BSB BSB: When my enemies retreat, they stumble and perish before You.
4 DRA For thou hast maintained my judgment and my cause: thou hast sat on the throne, who judgest justice. BSB BSB: For You have upheld my just cause; You sit on Your throne judging righteously.
5 DRA Thou hast rebuked the Gentiles, and the wicked one hath perished: thou hast blotted out their name for ever and ever. BSB BSB: You have rebuked the nations; You have destroyed the wicked; You have erased their name forever and ever.
6 DRA The swords of the enemy have failed unto the end: and their cities thou hast destroyed. Their memory hath perished with a noise. BSB BSB: The enemy has come to eternal ruin, and You have uprooted their cities; the very memory of them has vanished.
7 DRA But the Lord remaineth for ever. He hath prepared his throne in judgment: BSB BSB: But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment.
8 DRA And he shall judge the world in equity, he shall judge the people in justice. BSB BSB: He judges the world with justice; He governs the people with equity.
9 DRA And the Lord is become a refuge for the poor: a helper in due time in tribulation. BSB BSB: The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
10 DRA And let them trust in thee who know thy name: for thou hast not forsaken them that seek thee, O Lord. BSB BSB: Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
11 DRA Sing ye to the Lord, who dwelleth in Sion: declare his ways among the Gentiles: BSB BSB: Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion; proclaim His deeds among the nations.
12 DRA For requiring their blood he hath remembered the: he hath not forgotten the cry of the poor. BSB BSB: For the Avenger of bloodshed remembers; He does not ignore the cry of the afflicted.
13 DRA Have mercy on me, O Lord: see my humiliation which I suffer from my enemies. BSB BSB: Be merciful to me, O LORD; see how my enemies afflict me! Lift me up from the gates of death,
14 DRA Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death, that I may declare all thy praises in the gates of the daughter of Sion. BSB BSB: that I may declare all Your praises—that within the gates of Daughter Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation.
15 DRA I will rejoice in thy salvation: the Gentiles have stuck fast in the destruction which they have prepared. Their foot hath been taken in the very snare which they hid. BSB BSB: The nations have fallen into a pit of their making; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.
16 DRA The Lord shall be known when he executeth judgments: the sinner hath been caught in the works of his own hands. BSB BSB: The LORD is known by the justice He brings; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. Higgaion Selah
17 DRA The wicked shall be turned into hell, all the nations that forget God. BSB BSB: The wicked will return to Sheol—all the nations who forget God.
18 DRA For the poor man shall not be forgotten to the end: the patience of the poor shall not perish for ever. BSB BSB: For the needy will not always be forgotten; nor the hope of the oppressed forever dashed.
19 DRA Arise, O Lord, let not man be strengthened: let the Gentiles be judged in thy sight. BSB BSB: Rise up, O LORD, do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your presence.
20 DRA Appoint, O Lord, a lawgiver over them: that the Gentiles may know themselves to be but men. BSB BSB: Lay terror upon them, O LORD; let the nations know they are but men. Selah
