Accept One Another 1 DRA Now we that are stronger, ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. BSB BSB: We who are strong ought to bear with the shortcomings of the weak and not to please ourselves.
DRA Let every one of you please his neighbour unto good, to edification. BSB BSB: Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
DRA For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written: The reproaches of them that reproached thee, fell upon me. BSB BSB: For even Christ did not please Himself, but as it is written: “The insults of those who insult You have fallen on Me.”
DRA For what things soever were written, were written for our learning: that through patience and the comfort of the scriptures, we might have hope. BSB BSB: For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.
DRA Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of one mind one towards another, according to Jesus Christ: BSB BSB: Now may the God who gives endurance and encouragement grant you harmony with one another in Christ Jesus,
DRA That with one mind, and with one mouth, you may glorify God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. BSB BSB: so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ the Servant of Jews and Gentiles 7 DRA Wherefore receive one another, as Christ also hath received you unto the honour of God. BSB BSB: Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring glory to God.
DRA For I say that Christ Jesus was minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers. BSB BSB: For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs,
DRA But that the Gentiles are to glorify God for his mercy, as it is written: Therefore will I confess to thee, O Lord, among the Gentiles, and will sing to thy name. BSB BSB: so that the Gentiles may glorify God for His mercy. As it is written: “Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles; I will sing hymns to Your name.”
DRA And again he saith: Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. BSB BSB: Again, it says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people.”
DRA And again: Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and magnify him, all ye people. BSB BSB: And again: “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and extol Him, all you peoples.”
DRA And again Isaias saith: There shall be a root of Jesse; and he that shall rise up to rule the Gentiles, in him the Gentiles shall hope. BSB BSB: And once more, Isaiah says: “The Root of Jesse will appear, One who will arise to rule over the Gentiles; in Him the Gentiles will put their hope.”
DRA Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing; that you may abound in hope, and in the power of the Holy Ghost. BSB BSB: Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Paul the Minister to the Gentiles 14 DRA And I myself also, my brethren, am assured of you, that you also are full of love, replenished with all knowledge, so that you are able to admonish one another. BSB BSB: I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, brimming with knowledge, and able to instruct one another.
DRA But I have written to you, brethren, more boldly in some sort, as it were putting you in mind: because of the grace which is given me from God. BSB BSB: However, I have written you a bold reminder on some points, because of the grace God has given me
DRA That I should be the minister of Christ Jesus among the Gentiles; sanctifying the gospel of God, that the oblation of the Gentiles may be made acceptable and sanctified in the Holy Ghost. BSB BSB: to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
DRA I have therefore glory in Christ Jesus towards God. BSB BSB: Therefore I exult in Christ Jesus in my service to God.
DRA For I dare not to speak of any of those things which Christ worketh not by me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed, BSB BSB: I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obedience by word and deed,
DRA By the virtue of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Ghost, so that from Jerusalem round about as far as unto Illyricum, I have replenished the gospel of Christ. BSB BSB: by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
DRA And I have so preached this gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man’s foundation. BSB BSB: In this way I have aspired to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.
DRA But as it is written: They to whom he was not spoken of, shall see, and they that have not heard shall understand. BSB BSB: Rather, as it is written: “Those who were not told about Him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”
DRA For which cause also I was hindered very much from coming to you, and have been kept away till now. BSB BSB: That is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.

DRA But now having no more place in these countries, and having a great desire these many years past to come unto you, BSB BSB: But now that there are no further opportunities for me in these regions, and since I have longed for many years to visit you,
DRA When I shall begin to take my journey into Spain, I hope that as I pass, I shall see you, and be brought on my way thither by you, if first, in part, I shall have enjoyed you: BSB BSB: I hope to see you on my way to Spain. And after I have enjoyed your company for a while, you can equip me for my journey.
DRA But now I shall go to Jerusalem, to minister unto the saints. BSB BSB: Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem to serve the saints there.
DRA For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a contribution for the poor of the saints that are in Jerusalem. BSB BSB: For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
DRA For it hath pleased them; and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they ought also in carnal things to minister to them. BSB BSB: They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in their spiritual blessings, they are obligated to minister to them with material blessings.
DRA When therefore I shall have accomplished this, and consigned to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain. BSB BSB: So after I have completed this service and have safely delivered this bounty to them, I will set off to Spain by way of you.
DRA And I know, that when I come to you, I shall come in the abundance of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. BSB BSB: I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.
DRA I beseech you therefore, brethren, through our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the charity of the Holy Ghost, that you help me in your prayers for me to God, BSB BSB: Now I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.
DRA That I may be delivered from the unbelievers that are in Judea, and that the oblation of my service may be acceptable in Jerusalem to the saints. BSB BSB: Pray that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there,
DRA That I may come to you with joy, by the will of God, and may be refreshed with you. BSB BSB: so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and together with you be refreshed.
DRA Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. BSB BSB: The God of peace be with all of you. Amen.
