The Vision of the Flying Scroll 1 DRA And I turned and lifted up my eyes: and I saw, and behold a volume flying. BSB BSB: Again I lifted up my eyes and saw before me a flying scroll.
DRA And he said to me: What seest thou? And I said: I see a volume flying: the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits. BSB BSB: “What do you see?” asked the angel. “I see a flying scroll,” I replied, “twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.”
DRA And he said to me: This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the earth: for every thief shall be judged as is there written: and every one that sweareth in like manner shall be judged by it. BSB BSB: Then he told me, “This is the curse that is going out over the face of all the land, for according to one side of the scroll, every thief will be removed; and according to the other side, every perjurer will be removed.
DRA I will bring it forth, saith the Lord of hosts: and it shall come to the house of the thief, and to the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it, with the timber thereof, and the stones thereof. BSB BSB: I will send it out, declares the LORD of Hosts, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of him who swears falsely by My name. It will remain inside his house and destroy it, down to its timbers and stones.”
The Vision of the Woman in a Basket 5 DRA And the angel went forth that spoke in me, and he said to me: Lift up thy eyes, and see what this is, that goeth forth. BSB BSB: Then the angel who was speaking with me came forward and told me, “Now lift up your eyes and see what is approaching.”
DRA And I said: What is it? And he said: This is a vessel going forth. And he said: This is their eye in all the earth. BSB BSB: “What is it?” I asked. And he replied, “A measuring basket is going forth.” Then he continued, “This is their iniquity in all the land.”
DRA And behold a talent of lead was carried, and behold a woman sitting in the midst of the vessel. BSB BSB: And behold, the cover of lead was raised, and there was a woman sitting inside the basket.
DRA And he said: This is wickedness. And he cast her into the midst of the vessel, and cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof. BSB BSB: “This is Wickedness,” he said. And he shoved her down into the basket, pushing down the lead cover over its opening.
DRA And I lifted up my eyes and looked: and behold there came out two women, and wind was in their wings, and they had wings like the wings of a kite: and they lifted up the vessel between the earth and the heaven. BSB BSB: Then I lifted up my eyes and saw two women approaching, with the wind in their wings. Their wings were like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth.
DRA And I said to the angel that spoke in me: Whither do these carry the vessel? BSB BSB: “Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel who was speaking with me.
DRA And he said to me: That a house may be built for it in the land of Sennaar, and that it may be established, and set there upon its own basis. BSB BSB: “To build a house for it in the land of Shinar,” he told me. “And when it is ready, the basket will be set there on its pedestal.”
