2 Kings 15 (DWRL)

1Israa'eeliyaa Kaatii Iyorbbaami kaateteedda laatamanne laappuntsa laytsan, Yihudaa Kaatiyaa Amesiyaasa na'ay Ooziyaani kaateteedda. In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam’s reign over Israel, Azariah son of Amaziah became king of Judah.

2I kaateteedda wode, laytsay aw tammanne usuppuna; I Yerusaalamen ishatamanne laa"u laytsaa kaateteedda. Aa aati suntsay Yikoolo; iza Yerusaalame asaa.He was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-two years. His mother’s name was Jecoliah; she was from Jerusalem.

3Aa aawuu Amesiyaasi ootseeddawaadan, ikka Med'ina Godaa sintsan suurebaa ootseedda. And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father Amaziah had done.

4Gidooppenne Asay goynniyaa d'ok'k'a sa'aa d'ayisibeenna; he diraw yarshshuwaa yarshshiyaawaanne is'aanaa c'uwayiyaawaa aggibeenna.Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense there.

5Med'ina Goday Ooziyaana wolk'k'aama Oolluwaa harggiyaan oytseedda; hayk'k'ana gakkanaasikka he harggii Aa yeddibeenna diraw, dumma gollen barekka de'eedda. He wode kaatiyaa na'ay Iyo'aataame kaatiyaa gollen de'iide, he biittaa asaa mooddeedda. And the LORD afflicted the king with leprosy until the day he died, so that he lived in a separate house while his son Jotham had charge of the palace and governed the people of the land.

6Ooziyaane haneedda harabaynne I ootseeddabay ubbay Yihudaa Kaatetuwaa Taarikiyaa mas'aafan s'aafetti utteedda. As for the rest of the acts of Azariah, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

7Ooziyaane hayk'k'iidde, bare mayzzan gaketeedda; Daawita Kataman bare mayza aawotuwaana moogetteedda. Aa kotan Aa na'ay Yo'aataame kaateteedda. And Azariah rested with his fathers and was buried near them in the City of David. And his son Jotham reigned in his place.

8Yihudaa Kaatii Ooziyaane kaateteedda hattamanne hosppuntsa laytsan, Iyorbbaama na'ay Zakkaraasi Israa'eeliyaa asaa bolla Samaariyaa kataman kaateteedda; I usuppun aginaa kaateteedda. In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah’s reign over Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria six months.

9Aa mayza aawotuu ootseeddawaadan, ikka Med'ina Godaa sintsan iitabaa ootseedda; Nabaas'a na'ay Iyorbbaami Israa'eeliyaa asaa oosisseedda nagaraa ootsiyaawaa aggibeenna. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done. He did not turn away from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.

10Hewaappe guyyiyaan, Yaabeesha na'ay Shaaluumi Zakkaraasa bolla mak'etti denddiide, Yibila'aama giyaa saan wod'iide Aa kotan barew kaateteedda. Then Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against Zechariah, struck him down and killed him in front of the people, and reigned in his place.

11Zakkaraasi haneedda harabaynne I ootseeddabay ubbay Israa'eeliyaa Kaatetuwaa Taarikiyaa mas'aafan s'aafetti utteedda. As for the rest of the acts of Zechariah, they are indeed written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

12Hawaadan haniide, Med'ina Goday Iyuw, «Ne zarii oyddentso yeletaa gakkanaw, Israa'eeliyaa kawutetsaa araatan uttanawaa» yaagiide odeedda k'aalay poletteedda. So the word of the LORD spoken to Jehu was fulfilled: “Four generations of your sons will sit on the throne of Israel.”

13Yihudaa Kaatii Ooziyaane kaateteedda hattamanne udduppuntsa laytsan, Yaabeesha na'ay Shaaluumi kaateteedda; I Samaariyaan itti aginaa kaateteedda. In the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah’s reign over Judah, Shallum son of Jabesh became king, and he reigned in Samaria one full month.

Then Menahem son of Gadi went up from Tirzah to Samaria, struck down and killed Shallum son of Jabesh, and reigned in his place.

15Shaaluumi haneedda harabaynne I mak'etteedda mak'k'uu Israa'eeliyaa Kaatetuwaa Taarikiyaa mas'aafan s'aafetti utteedda. As for the rest of the acts of Shallum, along with the conspiracy he led, they are indeed written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

16He wode Minaaheemi Tirs's'a katamaappe denddiide, Tifisaaha giyaa katamaa, kataman de'iyaa asaanne katamaa heeraan de'iyaa biittatuwaa ubbaa oleedda. Unttunttu barenttu katamaa dirssaa penggiyaa aw dooyennan is's'eedda diraw, Tifisaaha katamaa olettiide bayzzeedda; k'ay he kataman de'iyaa shahaara mac'c'a asaa uluwaa ubbaa p'alk'k'i yeggeedda. At that time Menahem, starting from Tirzah, attacked Tiphsah and everyone in its vicinity, because they would not open their gates. So he attacked Tiphsah and ripped open all the pregnant women.

17Yihudaa Kaatii Ooziyaane kaateteedda hattamanne udduppuntsa laytsan, Gaade na'ay Minaaheemi Israa'eeliyaa bolla kaateteedda; I Samaariyaan tammu laytsaa kaateteedda. In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah’s reign over Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria ten years.

18I Med'ina Godaa sintsan iitabaa ootseedda; Nabaas'a na'ay Iyorbbaami Israa'eeliyaa asaa oosisseedda nagaraa ootsiyaawaa aggibeenna. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and throughout his reign he did not turn away from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.

19Hewaappe guyyiyaan, Asoore gadiyaa Kaatii Tigilaati-Paleseeri Israa'eeliyaa biittan dooddeedda. Minaheeme kawutetsan barena minisana malanne maaddana mala, Tigilaati-Paleseeraw hattamanne oyddu sha"a kiilo giraame s'agaraa biraa immeedda. Then Pul king of Assyria invaded the land, and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver in order to gain his support and strengthen his own grip on the kingdom.

20Minaaheemi he miishshaa Israa'eeliyaa asaa wolk'k'an c'igisseedda; Asoore biittaa kaatiyaw Immanaw dure asaa ubbay ittuu ittuu ishatamu s'agaraa biraa peed'eeddino. Hewaadan ootsina, Asoore kaatii Israa'eeliyaa biittaa aggiide, bare gadiyaa simmeedda.Menahem exacted this money from each of the wealthy men of Israel—fifty shekels of silver from each man—to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria withdrew and did not remain in the land.

21Minaaheemi haneedda harabaynne I ootseeddabay ubbay Israa'eeliyaa Kaatetuu Taarikiyaa mas'aafan s'aafetti utteedda. As for the rest of the acts of Menahem, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

22Minaaheemi hayk'k'iidde, bare mayzzan gaketeedda; Aa kotan Aa na'ay Pak'aahi kaateteedda. And Menahem rested with his fathers, and his son Pekahiah reigned in his place.

23Yihudaa Kaatii Ooziyaane kaateteedda ishatamantsa laytsan, Minaaheema na'ay Pak'aahi Israa'eeliyaa bolla Samaariyaan kaateteedda; I laa"u laytsaa kaateteedda. In the fiftieth year of Azariah’s reign over Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king of Israel and reigned in Samaria two years.

24Pak'aahi Med'ina Godaa sintsan iitabaa ootseedda; Nabaas'a na'ay Iyorbbaami Israa'eeliyaa asaa oosisseedda nagaraa ootsiyaawaa aggibeenna. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD and did not turn away from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.

25Aa ola gadaawatuwaappe ittuu, Ramaaliyaa na'ay Paak'uha giyaawe Aa bolla mak'ettiide denddeedda. Gala'aade asaappe ishatamu attuma asaa barenana akki biide, Samaariyaa kataman kaatiyaa gollen de'iyaa geessuwaa geleedda. Paak'uhi Pak'aaha Arggoobaarakka Haariyaanakka ittippe wod'iide Aa kotan barew kaateteedda. Then his officer, Pekah son of Remaliah, conspired against him along with Argob, Arieh, and fifty men of Gilead. And at the citadel of the king’s palace in Samaria, Pekah struck down and killed Pekahiah and reigned in his place.

26Pak'aahi haneedda harabaynne I ootseeddabay ubbay Israa'eeliyaa Kaatetuwaa Taarikiyaa mas'aafan s'aafetti utteedda. As for the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, along with all his accomplishments, they are indeed written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

27Yihudaa Kaatii Ooziyaane kaateteedda ishatamanne laa'entso laytsan, Ramaaliyaa na'ay Paak'uhi Israa'eeliyaa bolla Samaariyaan kaateteedda; I laatamu laytsaa kaateteedda. In the fifty-second year of Azariah’s reign over Judah, Pekah son of Remaliah became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria twenty years.

28Paak'uhi Med'ina Godaa sintsan iitabaa ootseedda; Nabaas'a na'ay Iyorbbaami Israa'eeliyaa asaa oosisseedda nagaraa ootsiyaawaa aggibeenna. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD and did not turn away from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.

29Israa'eeliyaa Kaatiyaa Paak'uha wodiyaan Asoore Kaatii Tigilaati-Paleseeri yiide ayino, Aabeeli-Beetimaa'ika, Yaanooha, K'edeeshanne Has'oora geetettiyaa katamatuwaa olettiide oyk'k'eedda; k'aykka Gala'aade, Galiilanne Nifttaaleema biittatuwaa ubbaa olettiide, asaa Asoore gadiyaa omoodiide afeedda. In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel-beth-maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, including all the land of Naphtali, and he took the people as captives to Assyria.

Then Hoshea son of Elah led a conspiracy against Pekah son of Remaliah. In the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah, Hoshea attacked Pekah, killed him, and reigned in his place.

31Paak'uhi haneedda harabaynne I ootseeddabay ubbay Israa'eeliyaa Kaatetuu Taarikiyaa mas'aafan s'aafetti utteedda. As for the rest of the acts of Pekah, along with all his accomplishments, they are indeed written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

32Ramaaliyaa na'ay, Israa'eeliyaa Kaatii Paak'uhi kaateteedda laa'entso laytsan, Yihudaa Kaatiyaa Ooziyaana na'ay Iyo'aataame kaateteedda. In the second year of the reign of Pekah son of Remaliah over Israel, Jotham son of Uzziah became king of Judah.

33Iyo'aataame kaatetiyaa wode aw laytsay laatamanne ichchesha; I Yerusaalamen tammanne usuppun laytsaa kaateteedda. Aa aati suntsay Yaruusho; Yaruusha S'aadook'a naatto. He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother’s name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok.

34Bare aawuu Ooziyaane ootseeddawaadan, Iyo'aataamikka Med'ina Godaa sintsan suurebaa ootseedda. And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father Uzziah had done.

35Gidooppenne Asay goynniyaa d'ok'k'a sa'aa d'ayisibeenna; he diraw yarshshuwaa yarshshiyaawaanne is'aanaa c'uwayiyaawaa aggibeenna. Iyo'aataame Med'ina Godaa Geeshsha Golliyaa geliyaa k'ommo bagga penggiyaa zaaretsiide ootseedda.Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense there. Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the house of the LORD.

36Iyo'aataame haneedda harabaynne I ootseeddabay ubbay Yihudaa Kaatetuwaa Taarikiyaa mas'aafan s'aafetti utteedda. As for the rest of the acts of Jotham, along with his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

37He wodiyaan Med'ina Goday Sooriyaa Kaatiyaa Raas'iinanne Ramaaliyaa na'aa, Israa'eeliyaa Kaatiyaa Paak'uha Yihudaa biittaa olissanaw doommeedda.(In those days the LORD began to send Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.)

38Iyo'aataame hayk'k'iidde, bare mayzzan gaketeedda; bare mayza aawuwaa Daawita Kataman bare mayza aawotuwaana moogetteedda. Aa sa'aan Aa na'ay Akaazi kaateteedda. And Jotham rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David his father. And his son Ahaz reigned in his place.
