Daniel 11 (DWRL)

«Meedoona biittaa asaa gidiyaa Daariyoosi kaateteedda koyiro laytsan, taani Aa maaddanawunne minisanaw Aa miyyiyaan ek'k'aad.“And I, in the first year of Darius the Mede, stood up to strengthen and protect him.

«Ha"i simmi taani new tumuwaa oday. Hara heezzu kaatetuu Parisse biittan kaatetana; k'ay unttunttuppe guyyiyaan kaatetiyaa oyddentso kaatii, kasewanttu ubbatuwaappe aad'd'eeda dure gidanawaa. I bare duretetsaa gaasuwaan wolk'k'aa demmiyaa wode, Asay ubbay Giriike kawutetsaanna olettana mala dentsetsana. Now then, I will tell you the truth: Three more kings will arise in Persia, and then a fourth, who will be far richer than all the others. By the power of his wealth, he will stir up everyone against the kingdom of Greece.

«Hewaappe guyyiyaan, wolk'k'an mooddiyaa mino kaatii denddanawaa; bare koyeeddawaa ubbaa ootsana. Then a mighty king will arise, who will rule with great authority and do as he pleases.

I denddeeddawaappe guyyiyaan, Aa kawutetsay duus'erettiide, oyddu sa'aan shaakettana. Aa zaaretsi Aa kawutetsaa laattikkino; I ayissiyaa wodewaadan kawutetsaw wolk'k'ay de'enna. Ayaw gooppe, Aa kawutetsay aappe aketiide, haratoo imettana. But as soon as he is established, his kingdom will be broken up and parceled out toward the four winds of heaven. It will not go to his descendants, nor will it have the authority with which he ruled, because his kingdom will be uprooted and given to others.

«Gedissa biittaa kaatii mino gidanawaa; shin Aa kaappatuwaappe ittuu aappe aad'd'i minniide, he wolk'k'aama kawutetsaa mooddana. The king of the South will grow strong, but one of his commanders will grow even stronger and will rule his own kingdom with great authority.

«Guutsa laytsaappe guyyiyaan, gedissa biittaa kaatiinne huup'issa biittaa kaatii barenttu giddon dabbotetsaa c'aak'uwaa c'aak'k'etanawantta. Gedissa biittaa kaatiyaa naatta huup'issa biittaa kaatiyaa gelanaanu; shin izi wolk'k'aykka minnenna; k'ay ikka Aa wolk'k'aykka daro wodiyaa gam"enna. He wode izo, izo ajabiyaawanttu, izi na'aynne izi asinay ubbay aad'd'iide imettana. After some years they will form an alliance, and the daughter of the king of the South will go to the king of the North to seal the agreement. But his daughter will not retain her position of power, nor will his strength endure. At that time she will be given up, along with her royal escort and her father and the one who supported her.

«Hewaappe simmina, izi dabbotuwaappe ittuu gedissa biittan kaatetana. Huup'issa biittaa kaatiyaa bollan geliide; Aa geessuwaa mentsi geliide, Aa s'oonana. But one from her family line will rise up in his place, come against the army of the king of the North, and enter his fortress, fighting and prevailing.

K'ay unttunttu s'oossatuwaa, misiletuwaanne biraappenne work'k'aappe oosetteedda miishshatuwaa akkiide, Gibs'e afana. Yaatiide amareeda wodiyaw huup'issa biittaa kaatiyaa bochchennan aggana. He will take even their gods captive to Egypt, with their metal images and their precious vessels of silver and gold. For some years he will stay away from the king of the North,

Hewaappe guyyiyaan, huup'issa biittaa kaatii gedissa biittaa kawutetsaa bolla gelana; shin diggina, guyye bare biittaa simmana.who will invade the realm of the king of the South and then return to his own land.

«Huup'issa biittaa kaatiyaa attuma naanatuu olaw giigiide, daro olanchchatuwaa shiishshana; sintsan gakketiyaawaa ubbaa meec'c'iyaa wolk'k'aama di'uwaadan, aad'd'iidde oliide, gedissa kaatiyaa geessuwaa olanawantta. But his sons will stir up strife and assemble a great army, which will advance forcefully, sweeping through like a flood, and will again carry the battle as far as his fortress.

He wodiyaan gedissa biittaa kaatii loytsi hank'k'ettiide, huup'issa biittaa kaatiyaa olanaw denddanawaa. Huup'issa biittaa kaatii shiishsheedda daro olanchchatuwaanna olettiide, unttuntta s'oonana. In a rage, the king of the South will march out to fight the king of the North, who will raise a large army, but it will be delivered into the hand of his enemy.

Daro olanchchatuwaa omoodeeddawaappe guyyiyaan, gedissa biittaa kaatii otoruwaan pugettana. Yaatiide daro sha"aa wod'ana; shin Aa s'oonuu aanana gam"enna. When the army is carried off, the king of the South will be proud in heart and will cast down tens of thousands, but he will not triumph.

«Waaniide gooppe, huup'issa biittaa kaatii kasewaappe aad'd'iyaa hara olanchchatuwaa giigissana; amareeda laytsatuwaa gam"iidde, kumentsaa olaa miishshaa oyk'k'eedda ha olanchchatuwaa akkiide, olaw kesana. For the king of the North will raise another army, larger than the first, and after some years he will advance with a great army and many supplies.

He wodiyaan daruu gedissa biittaa kaatiyaa bolla denddanawaa. Sas'ay polettana mala, ne asaappekka itti itti makkalanchcha asatuu denddanawantta; shin s'oonikkino. In those times many will rise up against the king of the South. Violent ones among your own people will exalt themselves in fulfillment of the vision, but they will fail.

«Hewaappe guyyiyaan, huup'issa biittaa kaatii gedissa biittaa yiide, yuushshuu gimbbetti utteedda itti katamaa oliide oyk'k'ana. Gedissa biittaa kaatiyaa olanchchatuu wolk'k'aa d'ayana; haray atto unttunttuppe mino olanchchatuukka unttunttunna ek'ettanaw danddaykkino. Then the king of the North will come, build up a siege ramp, and capture a fortified city. The forces of the South will not stand; even their best troops will not be able to resist.

Aanana ek'ettiyaawe mulekka bayinna diraw, huup'issa biittaa kaatii bare koyiyaawaa ubbaa ootsana. I Israa'eeliyaa giyaa lo"o biittan barew min ek'k'iide, Aa d'ayissiyaa wolk'k'aa demmana. The invader will do as he pleases, and no one will stand against him. He will establish himself in the Beautiful Land, with destruction in his hand.

I bare kawutetsaw de'iyaa wolk'k'aa ubbaa akkiide yaanaw k'ofaa k'achchana; yiide, gedissa biittaa kaatiyaanna dabbotetsaa c'aak'uwaa c'aak'k'etanawaa. He kawutetsaa ungganaw halchchiide, bare naatto aw immana; shin Aa halchchuu polettenna. He will resolve to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, and will reach an agreement with the king of the South. He will give him a daughter in marriage in order to overthrow the kingdom, but his plan will not succeed or help him.

«Hewaappe guyyiyaan, I bare k'ofaa abbaa gas'aan de'iyaa biittatuwaakko zaariide, unttunttuppe darotuwaa oliide, barew akkana. Shin itti olaa gadawuu Aa otoruwaa giishshana; yaatiide Aa otoruwaa Aa bolla zaarana. Then he will turn his face to the coastlands and capture many of them. But a commander will put an end to his reproach and will turn it back upon him.

Hewaappe guyyiyaan, huup'issa biittaa kaatii bare biittaa bare geessuwaa simmana. Shin I hewan d'ubettiide kunddana; Aa laa"entso ooninne be'enna. After this, he will turn back toward the fortresses of his own land, but he will stumble and fall and be no more.

«Aa sa'aan kaateteeddawe bare kawutetsaa bonchchuwaa naaganaw giiraa giirissiyaa asaa kawutetsaa giddo kiittana. Gidooppenne, k'antsa wodiyaappe guyyiyaan, k'onc'c'iyaan woy olan gidennaan I c'oo hayk'k'i d'ayana. In his place one will arise who will send out a tax collector for the glory of the kingdom; but within a few days he will be destroyed, though not in anger or in battle.

«Aa sa'aan k'ay itti kad'etteedda Asay denddanawaa; shin unttunttu kawutetsaa bonchchuwaa aw immikkino. Asay sa'ay sara giide de'ishshin, c'immi geliide, kawutetsaa I oyk'k'ana. In his place a despicable person will arise; royal honors will not be given to him, but he will come in a time of peace and seize the kingdom by intrigue.

Hewaappe guyyiyaan, daro olanchchatuu Aa sintsappe pitettiide d'ayana; c'aak'uwaa kaappuukka hayk'k'ana. Then a flood of forces will be swept away before him and destroyed, along with a prince of the covenant.

Aanana c'aak'uwaa c'aak'k'etti simmiide, bare ootsiyaawaa c'imuwaan ootsana; amareeda asatuwaa s'alalana I minnana. After an alliance is made with him, he will act deceitfully; for he will rise to power with only a few people.

Asay sa'ay saro giide de'ishshin, he biittan daro durettiyaa itti bagga I gelana. Kase bare aawuu woy bare mayzza aawotuu ootsibeennawaa ootsana; bare omooddi shiishsheedda duretetsaanne ak'uwaa barena kaalliyaawanttoo gishana. Geessotuwaakka laalanaw I halchchanawaa; shin hewaa I ootsiyaawe guutsa wodiyaassa. In a time of peace, he will invade the richest provinces and do what his fathers and forefathers never did. He will lavish plunder, loot, and wealth on his followers, and he will plot against the strongholds—but only for a time.

«Hewaappe guyyiyaan s'aliide, bare wolk'k'aakka minisiide, daro olanchchatuwaanna gedissa biittaa kaatiyaa bolla denddanawaa. K'ay gedissa biittaa kaatii loytsi daronne wolk'k'aama olanchchatuwaanna olaw denddiide, aanana olettana. Shin Aa bolla unttunttu kasetiide mak'k'eedda mak'k'uwaa gaasuwaan, I unttunttunna ek'ettanaw danddayenna. And with a large army he will stir up his power and his courage against the king of the South, who will mobilize a very large and powerful army but will not withstand the plots devised against him.

Kaatiyaanna itti maaddan miyaawanttu Aa d'ayssana; Aa olanchchatuu pitettana; Aa olanchchatuwaappe darotuu olan hayk'k'ana. Those who eat from his provisions will seek to destroy him; his army will be swept away, and many will fall slain.

Ha laa"u kaatetuukka barenttu wozanaan iitaa k'oppiyaa diraw, unttunttu ittippe itti oydiyaan uttiide haasayiidde, ittuu ittoo worddotana. Shin unttunttu ootsana giyaawe unttunttoo injjetenna; ayaw gooppe, S'oossay keereedda wodii biro gakkibeenna. And the two kings, with their hearts bent on evil, will speak lies at the same table, but to no avail, for still the end will come at the appointed time.

«Huup'issa biittaa kaatii daro duretetsaana bare biittaa simmana. Shin I bare wozanaan geeshsha c'aak'uwaa is's'ana. Aa k'ohanaw ittibaa Aa bolla ootsiide, bare biittaa simmana. The king of the North will return to his land with great wealth, but his heart will be set against the holy covenant; so he will do damage and return to his own land.

«S'oossay keereedda wodii gakkina, I zaariide gedissa biittaa bolla gelana; shin aw kasewaadan injjetenna. At the appointed time he will invade the South again, but this time will not be like the first.

Ayaw gooppe, away wulliyaa bagga biittaappe yiyaa olaa markkabatuu Aa dagantsana. Yaatooppe I guyye simmiide, geeshsha c'aak'uwaa bolla hank'k'ettana. K'ay hewaappe simmiide, geeshsha c'aak'uwaa aggiyaawanttuna dabbotana.Ships of Kittim will come against him, and he will lose heart. Then he will turn back and rage against the holy covenant and do damage. So he will return and show favor to those who forsake the holy covenant.

«Aa olanchchatuu Geeshsha Golliyaakka Aa yuushshuwaa gimbbiyaakka tunissananne hachchi hachchi yarshshiyaa yarshshuwaakka diggana. Yaatiide unttunttu bayetsaa tunatetsaa yan essana. His forces will rise up and desecrate the temple fortress. They will abolish the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination of desolation.

C'aak'k'uwaa koliyaawantta I bare c'imuwaa k'aalan bare bagga ootsana; shin barenttu S'oossaa eriyaa Asay minnananne aanana ek'ettana. With flattery he will corrupt those who violate the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.

«Asaa giddon de'iyaa aad'd'eeda eranchchatuu daro asaa tamaarissana; shin guutsa wodiyaa garssan ha tamaarissiyaawanttu mashshaan busakettana, taman s'uugettana, omoodettana woy bonk'k'ettana. Those with insight will instruct many, though for a time they will fall by sword or flame, or be captured or plundered.

He metotuwaa giddon de'iiddi, unttunttu guutsa maaduwaa demmana; daro asaykka unttunttu bagga malatiide, unttunttukko shiik'ana; shin wozanaappe gidenna. Now when they fall, they will be granted a little help, but many will join them insincerely.

Aad'd'eeda eranchchatuwaappe unddennawanttu d'ubettana. Hewaadan haniide, wurssetsaa wodii gakkanaw, unttunttu paac'ettiide kesana, geeyananne tooshii bayinnawantta gidana. Ayaw gooppe, S'oossay keereedda wodii biro gakkibeenna. Some of the wise will fall so that they may be refined, purified, and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.

«Kaatii barena koshshowaa ootsana; s'oossatuwaa ubbaappe bolla barena d'ok'k'u ootsiide darssana; k'ay s'oossatuwaa S'oossaa bolla kase sisetti erenna iita k'aalaa haasayana. Hananaw k'ofaan k'ashetti utteeddawe hananaw de'iyaa diraw, S'oossaa hank'k'uu polettana gakkanaw, I ootsiyaawe ubbay aw injjetana. Then the king will do as he pleases and will exalt and magnify himself above every god, and he will speak monstrous things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been decreed must be accomplished.

I kase bare mayzza aawotuwaa s'oossatuwaa, woy mac'c'a Asay siik'iyaa s'oossaa kad'ana; I bare s'alala hara ubbaappe aatsiide d'ok'k'u ootsanaappe attina, hara ay s'oossaanne koyenna. He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers, nor for the one desired by women, nor for any other god, because he will magnify himself above them all.

I unttuntta bonchchanawaa aggiide geessuwaa s'oossaa bonchchana; Aa mayzza aawotuu erenna s'oossaw work'k'aa, biraa, al"o shuchchaanne lo"o imuwaa immiide bonchchana. And in their place, he will honor a god of fortresses—a god his fathers did not know—with gold, silver, precious stones, and riches.

Imatsaa s'oossaa maaduwaan mino geessuwaa bolla I denddana. K'ay bare maataa eriyaawantta I daro bonchchana. I unttuntta daro asaa mooddiyaawantta ootsiide suntsana; k'ay biittaakka woytuwaa ootsiide, unttunttoo shaakki shaakkiide immana. He will attack the strongest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him, making them rulers over many and distributing the land for a price.

«Wurssetsaa wodii gakkina, gedissa biittaa kaatii denddiide, huup'issa biittaa kaatiyaa olana. Shin huup'issa biittaa kaatii paraa gaaretuwaa, paraa asatuwaanne daro markkabatuwaa akkiide, Aa bolla gotiyaadan yaana. Daro biittaa bolla geliide; di'uwaadan unttuntta meec'c'iidde aad'ana. At the time of the end, the king of the South will engage him in battle, but the king of the North will storm out against him with chariots, horsemen, and many ships, invading many countries and sweeping through them like a flood.

K'ay I Israa'eeliyaa giyaa lo"o biittaa bollankka gelana. Daro biittatuu Aa kushiyan kunddana; shin Eedooma, Moo'aabanne Amoona biittatuu Aa kushiyaappe attana. He will also invade the Beautiful Land, and many countries will fall. But these will be delivered from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the leaders of the Ammonites.

I daro biittatuwaa bolla geliyaa wode, Gibs'ekka aappe kessi akkena. He will extend his power over many countries, and not even the land of Egypt will escape.

Gibs'e biittaa work'k'aa, biraanne duretetsaa ubbaa I bare kushiyaa aatsana. Liibiinne Toop'p'ii aw moodetana. He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and over all the riches of Egypt, and the Libyans and Cushites will also submit to him.

«Shin away doliyaa baggaappenne huup'issa baggaappe yiyaa oduu Aa dagantsana; hank'k'uwaa ees's'i kesiide, darotuwaa wod'anawunne mule d'ayissanaw denddanawaa. But news from the east and the north will alarm him, and he will go out with great fury to destroy many and devote them to destruction.

I bare kaatetuwaa dunkkaaniyaa abbaappenne puulanchcha geeshsha asaappe gidduwaan tokkana. Shin Aa wurssetsay gakkanawaa; Aa maaddiyaawekka d'ayana. He will pitch his royal tents between the sea and the beautiful holy mountain, but he will meet his end with no one to help him.
