1. Walking by the Spirit

   (Ezekiel 36:16–38; Galatians 5:16–26)

2. 1ENGULBThere is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.BSBBSB: Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
3. 2ENGULBFor the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.BSBBSB: For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death.
4. 3ENGULBFor what the law was unable to do because it was weak through the flesh, God did. He sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be an offering for sin, and he condemned sin in the flesh.BSBBSB: For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man, as an offering for sin. He thus condemned sin in the flesh,
5. 4ENGULBHe did this in order that the requirements of the law might be fulfilled in us, we who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.BSBBSB: so that the righteous standard of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
6. 5ENGULBThose who live according to the flesh pay attention to the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit pay attention to the things of the Spirit.BSBBSB: Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
7. 6ENGULBFor the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.BSBBSB: The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace,
8. 7ENGULBThe mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God, for it is not subject to God's law, nor is it able to do so.BSBBSB: because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
9. 8ENGULBThose who are in the flesh cannot please God.BSBBSB: Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God.
10. 9ENGULBHowever, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is true that God's Spirit lives in you. But if someone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.BSBBSB: You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.
11. 10ENGULBIf Christ is in you, the body is dead with respect to sin, but the spirit is alive with respect to righteousness.BSBBSB: But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.
12. 11ENGULBIf the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life also to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.BSBBSB: And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.

13. Heirs with Christ

14. 12ENGULBSo then, brothers, we are debtors, but not to the flesh to live according to the flesh.BSBBSB: Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.
15. 13ENGULBFor if you live according to the flesh, you are about to die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the body's actions, you will live.BSBBSB: For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
16. 14ENGULBFor as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.BSBBSB: For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
17. 15ENGULBYou did not receive a spirit that makes you slaves, so that you live in fear again; but you received the Spirit of adoption, by which we cry, “Abba, Father!”BSBBSB: For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption to sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
18. 16ENGULBThe Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.BSBBSB: The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
19. 17ENGULBIf we are children, then we are also heirs, heirs of God. And we are joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.BSBBSB: And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him.

20. Future Glory

    (2 Corinthians 5:1–10)

21. 18ENGULBFor I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed to us.BSBBSB: I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us.
22. 19ENGULBFor the eager expectation of the creation waits for the revealing of the sons of God.BSBBSB: The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God.
23. 20ENGULBFor the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in the certain hopeBSBBSB: For the creation was subjected to futility, not by its own will, but because of the One who subjected it, in hope
24. 21ENGULBthat the creation itself will be delivered from slavery to decay, and that it will be brought into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.BSBBSB: that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
25. 22ENGULBFor we know that the whole creation groans and labors in pain together even now.BSBBSB: We know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until the present time.
26. 23ENGULBNot only that, but even we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit—even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for our adoption, the redemption of our body.BSBBSB: Not only that, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
27. 24ENGULBFor in this certain hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he can see?BSBBSB: For in this hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he can already see?
28. 25ENGULBBut if we have certain hope about what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.BSBBSB: But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently.
29. 26ENGULBIn the same way, the Spirit also helps in our weakness. For we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groans.BSBBSB: In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how we ought to pray, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.
30. 27ENGULBHe who searches the hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because he intercedes on behalf of the saints according to the will of God.BSBBSB: And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

31. God Works in All Things

    (Ephesians 1:3–14)

32. 28ENGULBWe know that for those who love God, he works all things together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.BSBBSB: And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.
33. 29ENGULBBecause those whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.BSBBSB: For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.
34. 30ENGULBThose whom he predestined, these he also called. Those whom he called, these he also justified. Those whom he justified, these he also glorified.BSBBSB: And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.
35. 31ENGULBWhat then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?BSBBSB: What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
36. 32ENGULBHe who did not spare his own Son but delivered him up on behalf of us all, how will he not also with him freely give us all things?BSBBSB: He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?
37. 33ENGULBWho will bring any accusation against God's chosen ones? God is the one who justifies.BSBBSB: Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
38. 34ENGULBWho is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us.BSBBSB: Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God—and He is interceding for us.

39. More than Conquerors

    (Psalm 44:1–26)

40. 35ENGULBWho will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or hunger, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?BSBBSB: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
41. 36ENGULBJust as it is written, “For your benefit we are killed all day long. We were considered as sheep for the slaughter.”BSBBSB: As it is written: “For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
42. 37ENGULBIn all these things we are more than conquerors through the one who loved us.BSBBSB: No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
43. 38ENGULBFor I have been convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor governments, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,BSBBSB: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
44. 39ENGULBnor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.BSBBSB: neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
