1The first person God created was Adam. Adam's son was Seth. Seth's son was Enosh. Enosh's son was Kenan.Adam, Seth, Enosh,

2Kenan's son was Mahalalel. Mahalalel's son was Jared. Jared's son was Enoch.Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared,

3Enoch's son was Methuselah. Methusalah's son was Lamech. Lamech's son was Noah.Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech, Noah.

4Noah's sons were Shem, Ham, and Japheth.The sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

5The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

6The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

7The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.And the sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites, and the Rodanites.

8The sons of Ham were Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

9The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raamah, and Sabteka. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

10Another son of Cush was Nimrod. When he grew up, he became a mighty warrior on the earth.Cush was the father of Nimrod, who began to be a mighty one on the earth.

11Egypt was the ancestor of the Lud, the Anam, the Lehab, the Naphtuh,Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, the Anamites, the Lehabites, the Naphtuhites,

12the Pathrus, the Kasluh, and the Caphtor peoples. The people of the region of Philistia were descended from the Kasluh people.the Pathrusites, the Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came), and the Caphtorites.

13Canaan's first son was Sidon. He was also the ancestor of the peoples of the Hittites,And Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites,

14the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,

15the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,

16the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites.the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites.

17The sons of Shem were Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram. Aram's sons were Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram. The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.

18Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, who was the father of Eber.Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah was the father of Eber.

33Midian's sons were Ephah, Epher, Hanok, Abida, and Eldaah.The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All of these were Keturah’s sons.

39Lotan's sons were Hori and Homam, and Lotan's sister was Timna.The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam. Timna was Lotan’s sister.

43These are the names of the kings who ruled the region of Edom before any kings ruled over Israel: Bela son of Beor was king in Edom, and the name of the city in which he lived was Dinhabah.These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites: Bela son of Beor. His city was named Dinhabah.

44When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah, from the city of Bozrah, became the king.When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigned in his place.

45When Jobab died, Husham became the king. He was from the region where the Teman people lived.When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.

46When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad became the king. He ruled in the city of Avith. Hadad's army defeated the army of the Midian people in the region of Moab.When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Avith.

47When Hadad died, Samlah became the king. He was from the city of Masrekah.When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah reigned in his place.

48When Samlah died, Shaul became the king. He was from Rehoboth, which was beside the Euphrates river.When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the Euphrates reigned in his place.

49When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan son of Akbor became the king.When Shaul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his place.

50When Baal-Hanan died, Hadar became the king. He was from the city of Pau. His wife's name was Mehetabel; she was the daughter of Matred and the granddaughter of Me-Zahab.When Baal-hanan died, Hadad reigned in his place. His city was named Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.

51Then Hadad died. The chiefs of the Edom people were Chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,Then Hadad died. Now the chiefs of Edom were Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,

52Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,

53Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,

54and Magdiel. These were the chiefs of Edom.Magdiel, and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.
