A Call to Prayer 1 UDB Most importantly, because false teachers are dangerous, I urge all the believers to ask God and pray to him to help all people and to thank him for them. BSB BSB: First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone—
2 UDB Pray for kings and for everyone who has power over others, so that we may live quietly and peacefully in a way that we can honor God and other people. BSB BSB: for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity.

7 UDB To declare this truth, God made me a messenger and an apostle. I speak the truth; I am not lying. I teach the Gentiles the things that they should truly believe. BSB BSB: For this reason I was appointed as a preacher, an apostle, and a faithful and true teacher of the Gentiles. I am telling the truth; I am not lying about anything.
8 UDB Therefore, in every place where believers worship, I want the men to pray and to lift up their hands to God in a way that he will accept, including being peaceful and united in what you say to one another. BSB BSB: Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension.
Instructions to Women 9 UDB I also want women to dress themselves carefully. They should control themselves so that they do not dress to show themselves off to others. Instead of having braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing, BSB BSB: Likewise, I want the women to adorn themselves with respectable apparel, with modesty, and with self-control, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
10 UDB they should dress themselves in what is right for women who do good works and who want to honor God. BSB BSB: but with good deeds, as is proper for women who profess to worship God.
12 UDB I do not allow women to teach or to tell men what to do. Women who honor God keep quiet when the believers come to learn. BSB BSB: I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; she is to remain quiet.

14 UDB And it was not Adam that the snake deceived. It was the woman whom he completely deceived so that she sinned. BSB BSB: And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman who was deceived and fell into transgression.
15 UDB But God will save women as they bear children, if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with modesty. BSB BSB: Women, however, will be saved through childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.
