Psalm 142 142 Psalms Book 5 Unlocked Dynamic Bible I Lift My Voice to the LORD (1 Samuel 22:1–5; Psalm 57:1–11)
UDB Yahweh, I cry out to you; I plead for you to help me. BSB BSB: A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave. A prayer. I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift my voice to the LORD for mercy.
UDB I am bringing to you all my problems; I am telling you all my troubles. BSB BSB: I pour out my complaint before Him; I reveal my trouble to Him.
UDB When I am very discouraged, you know what I should do. Wherever I walk, it is as though my enemies have hidden traps for me to fall into. BSB BSB: Although my spirit grows faint within me, You know my way. Along the path I travel they have hidden a snare for me.
UDB I look around, but there is no one who sees me, no one who will protect me, and no one who cares about what happens to me. BSB BSB: Look to my right and see; no one attends to me. There is no refuge for me; no one cares for my soul.
UDB So Yahweh, I cry out to you to help me; you are the one who protects me; you are all that I need while I am alive. BSB BSB: I cry to You, O LORD: “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”
UDB Listen to me while I cry out to you for help because I am very distressed. Rescue me because those who make me suffer are very strong; I cannot escape from them. BSB BSB: Listen to my cry, for I am brought quite low. Rescue me from my pursuers, for they are too strong for me.
UDB Free me from my troubles so that I may thank you. If you do that, when I am with others who live rightly, I will praise you for having been very good to me. BSB BSB: Free my soul from prison, that I may praise Your name. The righteous will gather around me because of Your goodness to me.
