Psalm 149 149 Psalms Book 5 Unlocked Dynamic Bible Sing to the LORD a New Song (Psalm 98:1–9; Isaiah 42:10–17)
UDB Praise Yahweh! Sing a new song to Yahweh; praise him whenever his faithful people gather together! BSB BSB: Hallelujah! Sing to the LORD a new song—His praise in the assembly of the godly.
UDB You Israelite people, be glad because of what God, who created you, has done for you! You people of Jerusalem, rejoice because of what God your king has done for you! BSB BSB: Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.
UDB Praise Yahweh by dancing, by beating tambourines, and by playing harps to praise him! BSB BSB: Let them praise His name with dancing, and make music to Him with tambourine and harp.
UDB Yahweh is pleased with his people; he honors humble people by helping them to defeat their enemies. BSB BSB: For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the afflicted with salvation.
UDB Because they have won battles, God's people should rejoice and sing joyfully all during the night! BSB BSB: Let the saints exult in glory; let them shout for joy upon their beds.
UDB They should shout loudly to praise God; but they should also hold sharp swords in their hands, BSB BSB: May the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a double-edged sword in their hands,
UDB ready to use them to defeat the soldiers of nations that do not worship God and to punish the people of those nations. BSB BSB: to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,
UDB They will fasten their kings and other leaders with iron chains. BSB BSB: to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with shackles of iron,
UDB They will judge and punish the people of those nations, as God wrote should be done. Everyone else will honor God's faithful people for doing that! Praise Yahweh! BSB BSB: to execute the judgment written against them. This honor is for all His saints. Hallelujah!
