2 UDB Yahweh loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other place in Israel. BSB BSB: The LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3 UDB All you people in Jerusalem, other people say wonderful things about your city. BSB BSB: Glorious things are ascribed to you, O city of God. Selah
4 UDB And Yahweh said, "I will talk of Rahab and Babylon and the people there who know me. There are also Philistia and Tyre, along with Ethiopia, and they will say, 'This one was born in Zion.'" BSB BSB: “I will mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me—along with Philistia, Tyre, and Cush—when I say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’”
5 UDB Concerning Zion, people will say, "All of these people who were born far away, they call Jerusalem their home, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong." BSB BSB: And it will be said of Zion: “This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High Himself will establish her.”
6 UDB Yahweh will write a list of the names of the people of various groups who belong to him, and he will say that he considers them all to be citizens of Jerusalem. BSB BSB: The LORD will record in the register of the peoples: “This one was born in Zion.” Selah
7 UDB They will all dance and sing, saying, "Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings." BSB BSB: Singers and pipers will proclaim, “All my springs of joy are in You.”
