A Warning against Apostasy 1 UEB Now the Spirit clearly says that in later times some people will leave the faith and pay attention to deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons BSB BSB: Now the Spirit expressly states that in later times some will abandon the faith to follow deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons,

3 UEB They will forbid to marry and to receive foods that God created for sharing with thanksgiving among those who believe and who know the truth. A Good Servant of Jesus Christ 6 UEB If you place these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Jesus Christ. For you are being nourished by the words of faith and by the good teaching that you have followed. 7 UEB But reject worldly stories loved by old women. Instead, train yourself in godliness. BSB BSB: But reject irreverent, silly myths. Instead, train yourself for godliness.
8 UEB For bodily training is a little useful, but godliness is useful for all things. It holds promise for this life now and the life to come. BSB BSB: For physical exercise is of limited value, but godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for the present life and for the one to come.
9 UEB This message is trustworthy and worthy of full acceptance. BSB BSB: This is a trustworthy saying, worthy of full acceptance.
10 UEB For it is for this that we struggle and work very hard. For we have hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, but especially of believers. 11 UEB Proclaim and teach these things. BSB BSB: Command and teach these things.
12 UEB Let no one despise your youth. Instead, be an example for those who believe, in speech, conduct, love, faithfulness, and purity. BSB BSB: Let no one despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
13 UEB Until I come, attend to the reading, to the exhortation, and to the teaching. BSB BSB: Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, and to teaching.

15 UEB Care for these things. Be in them, so that your progress may be evident to all people. BSB BSB: Be diligent in these matters and absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all.
16 UEB Give careful attention to yourself and to the teaching. Continue in these things. For by doing so, you will save yourself and those who listen to you.
