Christ’s Eternal Priesthood 1 UEB Now the point of what we are saying is this: We have a high priest who has sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. BSB BSB: The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven,
2 UEB He is a servant in the holy place, the true tabernacle that the Lord, not a man, set up. BSB BSB: and who ministers in the sanctuary and true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man.
3 UEB For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary to have something to offer. BSB BSB: And since every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, it was necessary for this One also to have something to offer.
4 UEB Now if Christ were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are those who offer the gifts according to the law. BSB BSB: Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are already priests who offer gifts according to the law.
5 UEB They serve in a tabernacle that is a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. It is just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to construct the tabernacle: God said, "See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain." BSB BSB: The place where they serve is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”
The New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:26–40)
6 UEB But now Christ has received a much better ministry, just as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which is based on better promises. BSB BSB: Now, however, Jesus has received a much more excellent ministry, just as the covenant He mediates is better and is founded on better promises.

10 UEB This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days —says the Lord. I will put my laws into their minds, and I will also write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. BSB BSB: For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord.
