1The second casting of lots fell to Simeon, clan by clan. Their inheritance was in the middle of the inheritance that belonged to the tribe of Judah.The second lot came out for the clans of the tribe of Simeon: Their inheritance lay within the territory of Judah

2They had for their inheritance Beersheba, Sheba, Moladah,and included Beersheba (or Sheba), Moladah,

3Hazar Shual, Balah, Ezem,Hazar-shual, Balah, Ezem,

4Eltolad, Bethul, and Hormah.Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,

5Simeon also had Ziklag, Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susah,Ziklag, Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susah,

9The inheritance of the tribe of Simeon formed part of the territory of the tribe of Judah. Because the portion of land assigned to the tribe of Judah was too large for them, the tribe of Simeon received their inheritance out of the middle of their portion.The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the territory of Judah, because the share for Judah’s descendants was too large for them. So the Simeonites received an inheritance within Judah’s portion.

10The third casting of lots fell to the tribe of Zebulun, clan by clan. The border of their inheritance began at Sarid.The third lot came up for the clans of the tribe of Zebulun: The border of their inheritance stretched as far as Sarid.

11Their border went up westward toward Maralah and touched Dabbesheth; then it extended to the brook that was opposite Jokneam.It went up westward to Maralah, reached Dabbesheth, and met the brook east of Jokneam.

12From Sarid the border turned eastward toward the east and went to the border of Kisloth Tabor. From there it went to Daberath and then up to Japhia.From Sarid it turned eastward along the border of Chisloth-tabor and went on to Daberath and up to Japhia.

13From there it passed on eastward to Gath Hepher, and then to Eth Kazin; next it went to Rimmon and turned toward Neah.From there it crossed eastward to Gath-hepher and to Eth-kazin; it extended to Rimmon and curved around toward Neah.

14The border made a turn to the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah El.Then the border circled around the north side of Neah to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah-el.

15This region included the cities of Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem. There were twelve cities, including their villages.It also included Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem. There were twelve cities, along with their villages.

26Allammelek, Amad, and Mishall. On the west the boundary extended to Carmel and Shihor Libnath.Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal. On the west the border touched Carmel and Shihor-libnath,

27Then it turned eastward to Beth Dagon and went as far as Zebulun, and then to the Valley of Iphtah El, northward to Beth Emek and Neiel. Then it continued on to Kabul toward the north.then turned eastward toward Beth-dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah-el, and went north to Beth-emek and Neiel, passing Cabul on the left.

28It then went on to Abdon, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon.It went on to Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon.

29The border turned back to Ramah, and then to the fortified city of Tyre. Then the border turned to Hosah and ended at the sea, in the region of Akzib,The border then turned back toward Ramah as far as the fortified city of Tyre, turned toward Hosah, and came out at the Sea in the region of Achzib,

32The sixth casting of lots fell to tribe of Naphtali, clan by clan.The sixth lot came out for the clans of the tribe of Naphtali:

33Their border ran from Heleph, from the oak at Zaanannim, on to Adami Nekeb and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum; it ended at the Jordan.Their border started at Heleph and the great tree of Zaanannim, passing Adami-nekeb and Jabneel as far as Lakkum and ending at the Jordan.

34The border turned westward to Aznoth Tabor and went on to Hukkok; it touched Zebulun on the south, and reached to Asher on the west and Judah on the east at the Jordan River.Then the border turned westward to Aznoth-tabor and ran from there to Hukkok, touching Zebulun on the south side, Asher on the west, and Judah at the Jordan on the east.

42Shaalabbin, Aijalon, and Ithlah.Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah,

47When the territory of the tribe of Dan was lost to them, Dan attacked Leshem, fought against it, capturing it and striking it with the sword; taking possession of it and settled in it. They renamed Leshem, calling it Dan after their ancestor.(Later, when the territory of the Danites was lost to them, they went up and fought against Leshem, captured it, and put it to the sword. So they took possession of Leshem, settled there, and renamed it after their father Dan.)

49When they finished the allocation of the land as an inheritance, the people of Israel gave an inheritance among themselves to Joshua son of Nun.When they had finished distributing the land into its territories, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them,

50By the command of Yahweh they gave him the city for which he asked, Timnath Serah in the hill country of Ephraim. He rebuilt the city and lived there.as the LORD had commanded. They gave him the city of Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim, as he requested. He rebuilt the city and settled in it.

51These are the inheritances that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders of the tribes of the people of Israel assigned by lot at Shiloh, before Yahweh, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. So they finished assigning the land.These are the inheritances that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the heads of the families distributed by lot to the tribes of Israel at Shiloh before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. So they finished dividing up the land.
