Laws for Peace Offerings (Leviticus 7:11–21)
1 UEB If someone offers a sacrifice which is a fellowship offering of an animal from the herd, whether male or female, he must offer an animal without blemish before Yahweh. BSB BSB: “If one’s offering is a peace offering and he offers an animal from the herd, whether male or female, he must present it without blemish before the LORD.
2 UEB He will lay his hand on the head of his offering and kill it at the door of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron's sons the priests will sprinkle its blood on the sides of the altar. BSB BSB: He is to lay his hand on the head of the offering and slaughter it at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall splatter the blood on all sides of the altar.
3 UEB The man will offer the sacrifice of a fellowship offering by fire to Yahweh. The fat that covers or is connected to the inner parts, BSB BSB: From the peace offering he is to bring a food offering to the LORD: the fat that covers the entrails, all the fat that is on them,
4 UEB and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the lobe of the liver, with the kidneys—he will remove all of this. BSB BSB: both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the kidneys.
5 UEB Aaron's sons will burn that on the altar with the burnt offering, which is on the wood that is on the fire. This will produce a sweet aroma for Yahweh; it will be an offering made to him by fire. BSB BSB: Then Aaron’s sons are to burn it on the altar atop the burnt offering that is on the burning wood, as a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
6 UEB If the man's sacrifice of a fellowship offering to Yahweh is from the flock; male or female, he must offer a sacrifice without blemish. BSB BSB: If, however, one’s peace offering to the LORD is from the flock, he must present a male or female without blemish.
7 UEB If he offers a lamb for his sacrifice, then he must offer it before Yahweh. BSB BSB: If he is presenting a lamb for his offering, he must present it before the LORD.
8 UEB He will lay his hand on the head of his sacrifice and kill it before the tent of meeting. Then Aaron's sons will sprinkle its blood on the sides of the altar. BSB BSB: He is to lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it in front of the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall splatter its blood on all sides of the altar.
9 UEB The man will offer the sacrifice of fellowship offerings as an offering made by fire to Yahweh. The fat, the entire fat tail cut away close to the backbone, and the fat that covers the inner parts and all the fat that is near the inner parts, BSB BSB: And from the peace offering he shall bring a food offering to the LORD consisting of its fat: the entire fat tail cut off close to the backbone, the fat that covers the entrails, all the fat that is on them,
10 UEB and the two kidneys and the fat that is with them, which is by the loins, and the lobe of the liver, with the kidneys—he will remove all of this. BSB BSB: both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the kidneys.
11 UEB Then the priest will burn it all on the altar as a burnt offering of food to Yahweh. BSB BSB: Then the priest is to burn them on the altar as food, a food offering to the LORD.
12 UEB If the man's offering is a goat, then he will offer it before Yahweh. BSB BSB: If one’s offering is a goat, he is to present it before the LORD.
13 UEB He must lay his hand on the head of the goat and kill it before the tent of meeting. Then the sons of Aaron will sprinkle its blood on the sides of the altar. BSB BSB: He must lay his hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall splatter its blood on all sides of the altar.
14 UEB The man will offer his sacrifice made by fire to Yahweh. He will remove the fat that covers the inner parts, and all the fat near the inner parts. BSB BSB: And from his offering he shall present a food offering to the LORD: the fat that covers the entrails, all the fat that is on them,
15 UEB He will also remove the two kidneys and the fat that is with them, which is by the loins, and the lobe of the liver with the kidneys. BSB BSB: both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the kidneys.
16 UEB The priest will burn all that on the altar as a burnt offering of food, to produce a sweet aroma. All the fat belongs to Yahweh. BSB BSB: Then the priest is to burn the food on the altar as a food offering, a pleasing aroma. All the fat is the LORD’s.
17 UEB It will be a permanent statute throughout your people's generations in every place you make your home, that you must not eat fat or blood.'" BSB BSB: This is a permanent statute for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood.”
