Give Praise, O Servants of the LORD (Psalm 115:1–18)
1 UEB Praise Yahweh. Praise the name of Yahweh. Praise him, you servants of Yahweh, BSB BSB: Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD. Give praise, O servants of the LORD,
2 UEB you who stand in Yahweh's house, in the courtyards of the house of our God. BSB BSB: who stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 UEB Praise Yahweh, for he is good; sing praises to his name, for it is pleasant to do so. BSB BSB: Hallelujah, for the LORD is good; sing praises to His name, for it is lovely.
4 UEB For Yahweh has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his possession. BSB BSB: For the LORD has chosen Jacob as His own, Israel as His treasured possession.
5 UEB I know that Yahweh is great, that our Lord is above all gods. BSB BSB: For I know that the LORD is great; our Lord is above all gods.
6 UEB Whatever Yahweh desires, he does in heaven, on earth, in the seas and all the ocean depths. BSB BSB: The LORD does all that pleases Him in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and in all their depths.
7 UEB He brings the clouds from far away, making lightning bolts accompany the rain and bringing the wind out of his storehouse. BSB BSB: He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
8 UEB He killed the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and animals. BSB BSB: He struck down the firstborn of Egypt, of both man and beast.
9 UEB He sent signs and wonders into your midst, Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants. BSB BSB: He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.
10 UEB He attacked many nations and killed mighty kings, BSB BSB: He struck down many nations and slaughtered mighty kings:
11 UEB Sihon king of the Amorites and Og king of Bashan and all the kingdoms of Canaan. BSB BSB: Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan.
12 UEB He gave us their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to Israel his people. BSB BSB: He gave their land as an inheritance, as a heritage to His people Israel.
13 UEB Your name, Yahweh, endures forever; your renown, Yahweh, endures throughout all generations. BSB BSB: Your name, O LORD, endures forever, Your renown, O LORD, through all generations.
14 UEB For Yahweh defends his people and has compassion on his servants. BSB BSB: For the LORD will vindicate His people and will have compassion on His servants.
15 UEB The nations' idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. BSB BSB: The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.
16 UEB Those idols have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see; BSB BSB: They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;
17 UEB they have ears, but they do not hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. BSB BSB: they have ears, but cannot hear; nor is there breath in their mouths.
18 UEB Those who make them are like them, as is everyone who trusts in them. BSB BSB: Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.
19 UEB Descendants of Israel, bless Yahweh; descendants of Aaron, bless Yahweh. BSB BSB: O house of Israel, bless the LORD; O house of Aaron, bless the LORD;
20 UEB Descendants of Levi, bless Yahweh; you who honor Yahweh, bless Yahweh. BSB BSB: O house of Levi, bless the LORD; you who fear the LORD, bless the LORD!
21 UEB Blessed be Yahweh in Zion, he who lives in Jerusalem. Praise Yahweh. BSB BSB: Blessed be the LORD from Zion—He who dwells in Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
