Psalm 142 142 Psalms Book 5 Unlocked English Bible I Lift My Voice to the LORD (1 Samuel 22:1–5; Psalm 57:1–11)
UEB With my voice I cry out for help to Yahweh; with my voice I plead for Yahweh's favor. BSB BSB: A Maskil of David, when he was in the cave. A prayer. I cry aloud to the LORD; I lift my voice to the LORD for mercy.
UEB I pour out my lament before him; I tell him my troubles. BSB BSB: I pour out my complaint before Him; I reveal my trouble to Him.
UEB When my spirit is weak within me, you know my path. In the way that I walk they have hidden a trap for me. BSB BSB: Although my spirit grows faint within me, You know my way. Along the path I travel they have hidden a snare for me.
UEB I look to my right and and see that there is no one who cares about me. There is no escape for me; no one cares about my life. BSB BSB: Look to my right and see; no one attends to me. There is no refuge for me; no one cares for my soul.
UEB I called out to you, Yahweh; I said, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. BSB BSB: I cry to You, O LORD: “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.”
UEB Listen to my call, for I have been brought very low; rescue me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than I. BSB BSB: Listen to my cry, for I am brought quite low. Rescue me from my pursuers, for they are too strong for me.
UEB Bring my soul out of prison so that I may give thanks to your name. The righteous will gather around me because you have been good to me." BSB BSB: Free my soul from prison, that I may praise Your name. The righteous will gather around me because of Your goodness to me.
