Psalm 16 16 Psalms Book 1 Unlocked English Bible The Presence of the LORD (Acts 2:14–36)
UEB Protect me, God, for I take refuge in you. BSB BSB: A Miktam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.
UEB I say to Yahweh, "You are my Lord; my goodness is nothing apart from you. BSB BSB: I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.”
UEB As for the holy people who are on the earth, they are noble people; all my delight is in them. BSB BSB: As for the saints in the land, they are the excellence in whom all my delight resides.
UEB Their troubles will be increased, those who seek out other gods. I will not pour out drink offerings of blood to their gods or lift up their names with my lips. BSB BSB: Sorrows will multiply to those who chase other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood, or speak their names with my lips.
UEB Yahweh, you are my chosen portion and my cup. You hold onto my lot. BSB BSB: The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
UEB Measuring lines have been laid for me in pleasant places; surely a pleasing inheritance is mine. BSB BSB: The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.
UEB I will bless Yahweh, who counsels me; even at night my mind instructs me. BSB BSB: I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me.
UEB I set Yahweh before me at all times, so I will not be shaken from his right hand! BSB BSB: I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
UEB Therefore my heart is glad; my glory is rejoicing. Surely I will live in security. BSB BSB: Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely.
UEB For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol. You will not let your faithful one see the pit. BSB BSB: For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay.
UEB You teach me the path of life; abundant joy resides in your presence; delights abide in your right hand forever!" BSB BSB: You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
