You Are My Refuge and My Fortress 1 UEB He who lives in the shelter of the Most High will stay in the shadow of the Almighty. BSB BSB: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 UEB I will say of Yahweh, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." BSB BSB: I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 UEB For he will rescue you from the snare of the hunter and from the deadly plague. BSB BSB: Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly plague.
4 UEB He will cover you with his wings, and under his wings you will find refuge. His trustworthiness is a shield and protection. BSB BSB: He will cover you with His feathers; under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and rampart.
5 UEB You will not be afraid of terror in the night, or of the arrow that flies by day, BSB BSB: You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 UEB or of the plague that roams around in the darkness, or of the disease that comes at noontime. BSB BSB: nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the calamity that destroys at noon.
7 UEB A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not reach you. BSB BSB: Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you.
8 UEB You will only observe and see the punishment of the wicked. BSB BSB: You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment of the wicked.
9 UEB For Yahweh is my refuge! Make the Most High your refuge also. BSB BSB: Because you have made the LORD your dwelling—my refuge, the Most High—
10 UEB No evil will overtake you; no affliction will come near your home. BSB BSB: no evil will befall you, no plague will approach your tent.
11 UEB For he will direct his angels to protect you, to guard you in all your ways. BSB BSB: For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
12 UEB They will lift you up with their hand so that you will not hit your foot on a stone. BSB BSB: They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 UEB You will crush lions and adders under your feet; you will trample on young lions and serpents. BSB BSB: You will tread on the lion and cobra; you will trample the young lion and serpent.
14 UEB Because he is devoted to me, I will rescue him. I will protect him because he is loyal to me. BSB BSB: “Because he loves Me, I will deliver him; because he knows My name, I will protect him.
15 UEB When he calls to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble; I will give him victory and will honor him. BSB BSB: When he calls out to Me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him.
16 UEB I will satisfy him with long life and show him my salvation. BSB BSB: With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.”
