The Lamb Takes the Scroll 1 UEB Then I saw in the right hand of the one who was seated on the throne a scroll written on the front and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2 UEB I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?" BSB BSB: And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”
3 UEB No one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to read it. BSB BSB: But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or look inside it.
4 UEB I wept bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to read it. BSB BSB: And I began to weep bitterly, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside it.
7 UEB He went and took hold of the scroll out of the right hand of the one who was seated on the throne. BSB BSB: And He came and took the scroll from the right hand of the One seated on the throne.
8 UEB When he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of them had a harp and a golden bowl full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 UEB They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals. For you were slaughtered, and with your blood you purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people, and nation. BSB BSB: And they sang a new song: “Worthy are You to take the scroll and open its seals, because You were slain, and by Your blood You purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
10 UEB You made them a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth." BSB BSB: You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign upon the earth.”
The Lamb Exalted 11 UEB Then I looked and heard the sound of many angels who encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. Their total number was ten thousands of ten thousands and thousands of thousands. BSB BSB: Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels encircling the throne, and the living creatures and the elders. And their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands.
12 UEB They said in a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who has been slaughtered to receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and praise." BSB BSB: In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
13 UEB I heard every created thing that was in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea—everything in them—saying, "To the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and the power to rule, forever and ever." BSB BSB: And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever!”
14 UEB The four living creatures said, "Amen!" and the elders fell down and worshiped. BSB BSB: And the four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
