Lawsuits among Believers 1 ULT Do any of you dare, having a dispute with another, to go to court before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? BSB BSB: If any of you has a grievance against another, how dare he go to law before the unrighteous instead of before the saints!
2 ULT Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy of the smallest cases? BSB BSB: Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?
3 ULT Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more, matters of this life? BSB BSB: Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!
4 ULT So then, if you have legal disputes about things of this life, why do you appoint as judges these ones of no account in the church? BSB BSB: So if you need to settle everyday matters, do you appoint as judges those of no standing in the church?
5 ULT I speak to your shame.{ Is it} thus that there is not any wise{ man} among you who will be able to discern between his brothers? BSB BSB: I say this to your shame. Is there really no one among you wise enough to arbitrate between his brothers?
6 ULT But brother goes to court against brother, and this before unbelievers? BSB BSB: Instead, one brother goes to law against another, and this in front of unbelievers!
7 ULT This, therefore, is indeed already a complete defeat for you, since you have lawsuits among yourselves. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? BSB BSB: The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means that you are thoroughly defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?
8 ULT But you do wrong and cheat, and this to your brothers! BSB BSB: Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, even against your own brothers!
Members of Christ 9 ULT Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor practicing homosexuals BSB BSB: Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who submit to or perform homosexual acts,
10 ULT nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. BSB BSB: nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
11 ULT And that{ is what} some of you were. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. BSB BSB: And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
12 ULT “Everything is lawful for me,” but not everything is beneficial.“Everything is lawful for me,” but I will not be mastered by anything. BSB BSB: “Everything is permissible for me,” but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me,” but I will not be mastered by anything.
13 ULT “Food{ is} for the stomach, and the stomach for food,” but God will do away with both this and those. Now the body{ is} not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord and the Lord for the body. BSB BSB: “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food,” but God will destroy them both. The body is not intended for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
14 ULT Now God indeed raised the Lord and will also raise up us by his power. BSB BSB: By His power God raised the Lord from the dead, and He will raise us also.
15 ULT Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Therefore, having taken away the members of Christ, should I make{ them} members of a prostitute? May it never be! BSB BSB: Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!
16 ULT Or do you not know that the one being joined to the prostitute is one body? For it says,“The two will become as one flesh.” BSB BSB: Or don’t you know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”
17 ULT But the one being joined to the Lord is one spirit. BSB BSB: But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit.

18 ULT Flee from sexual immorality! Every sin that a man might commit is outside the body, but the one being sexually immoral sins against his own body. BSB BSB: Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a man can commit is outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.
20 ULT for you were bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body. BSB BSB: you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.
