Thanksgiving and Prayer (1 Corinthians 1:4–9; Philippians 1:3–11)

4 ULT having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you have for all the saints, BSB BSB: because we have heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all the saints—
5 ULT because of the hope that is being reserved for you in the heavens, which you heard before in the word of truth, the gospel, BSB BSB: the faith and love proceeding from the hope stored up for you in heaven, of which you have already heard in the word of truth, the gospel
6 ULT which being present among you just as also in all the world, is bearing fruit and growing, just as also in you, from the day you heard{ it} and learned about the grace of God in truth, BSB BSB: that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood the grace of God.
7 ULT just as you learned{ it} from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf, BSB BSB: You learned it from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf,
8 ULT and the one having made known to us your love in the Spirit. BSB BSB: and who also informed us of your love in the Spirit.
9 ULT Because of this, from the day we heard this, we also have not stopped praying for you and asking that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, BSB BSB: For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
10 ULT to walk worthily of the Lord in every pleasing{ way}, bearing fruit in every good deed and growing in the knowledge of God, BSB BSB: so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,
11 ULT being strengthened with all power according to the power of his glory to all endurance and patience with joy, BSB BSB: being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have full endurance and patience, and joyfully
12 ULT giving thanks to the Father, the one having made you able to share the inheritance of the saints in the light. BSB BSB: giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light.
13 ULT He rescued us from the authority of the darkness and transferred{ us} to the kingdom of his beloved Son, BSB BSB: He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of His beloved Son,
14 ULT in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. BSB BSB: in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
The Supremacy of the Son (Hebrews 1:1–14)
18 ULT And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that he himself might become first among all things. 23 ULT if indeed you continue in the faith, founded and firm and not being moved from the hope of the gospel that you heard, the one having been proclaimed to every creature{ that is} under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a servant. Paul’s Suffering for the Church (2 Corinthians 11:16–33)

26 ULT the mystery that had been hidden from the ages and from the generations, but now having been revealed to his saints, BSB BSB: the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to His saints.
27 ULT to whom God desired to make known what{ is} the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. BSB BSB: To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
28 ULT We proclaim him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom so that we may present every man complete in Christ. BSB BSB: We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
29 ULT For this also I labor, striving according to his working, the one working in me in power. BSB BSB: To this end I also labor, striving with all His energy working powerfully within me.
